A better look at three new LEGO sets based on Bay's upcoming live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. By the way, the fourth set, "Turtle Sub Undersea Chase," is NOT based on the film. It's based on the current animated television series, so, don't pay any attention to it.
The sets are the Turtle Van Takedown (79115) – 368 pcs/$39.99, Big Rig Snow Gateway (79116) – 741 pcs/$69.99, and the Turtle Lair Invasion (79117) – 888 pcs/$99.99. - thebrickfan.com

NINJA TURTLES will be directed by Jonathan Liebesman ("Wrath of the Titans"), and produced by Michael Bay ("The Rock"). The script was written by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec, based on characters created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. The cast includes: Megan Fox as April O'Neil, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Danny Woodburn as Splinter, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Will Arnett as Vernon and William Fichtner as Shredder. It lands in theaters August 8, 2014.

With LEGO sets they are usually made up sets with one or two sets bases on the actual movie.

Got excited about Leatherhead for a sec, but then I realized that it was probably for the cartoon. Unless they're planning on using Krang right out the door.

@CuddleyCereal: You're incorrect. The Death Star models have always retailed for $299.99 or $399.99 depending on which set you're speaking of.

The set on the top right is based on the current cartoon series. You can tell by the colors of the turtles. The movie turtles are darker.

Well, to cap off how much the reboot is going to suck... if you look at the fourth image, it looks like they made Splinter super tiny. Smh.

One who doesn't know the difference between "its" and "it's" shouldn't talk about the illiteracy of others.

@thwip: Huh? He used it correctly from what I see. It's = it is.
thwip

True, he did use it correctly in that instance. But he never uses "its," as in the possessive form. Every article, interview, comment, and so on he makes uses "it's" for both forms.

And before he plays the "Oo, I have an obsessive fanboy" card...

No, you don't. I just notice these things. And when someone does it as much as you do it, I detect and retain it.

So Master Splinter will be gray in this movie? That's how he looked in the 2003 TMNT cartoon:

This movie seems to be taking a lot of inspiration from that cartoon.

Typo...not the same as grammatical inconsistency.

One-time thing VS. repeat offenses.

But you're right, I should have proofread. You have me there.

Nonna y'all know shit 'bout nonna this grammatical grammacy shit.
Seriously though, thwip, I feel your pain, but if you want to start worrying about grammar, spelling and punctuation on the internet, then you have really got your work cut out for you. Besides, isn't "It's" the same for both pertainance and abbreviation? I always thought it was.

As for the Lego TMNT peekiness; Am I the only one geeking my brains out over the seeming confirmation of both Karai and the ooze/mutagen?!
Also, is that symbol (the "S" in thge square) on the truck a pre-exiting symbol or could it be the logo of Sachs Enterprises or what-not? Or even Stockgen? Sachsgen?

mgeoff88@ You're right. Between that and the Utrom Shredder rumors, this does seem to be taking a lot from the 2k3 show. That's not a bad thing, if you ask me. Not a bad thing at all. Loved that show.
