Marvel Studios has announced that Thor: Love and Thunder arrives on Digital on September 8 before its release on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on September 27. With the news comes a full list of special features and deleted scenes, and in the case of the latter, you might want to brace yourselves for a minor disappointment.
Christian Bale has confirmed that he worked with Jeff Goldblum (The Grandmaster) and Peter Dinklage (Eitri) on scenes that didn't make the final cut, though director Taika Waititi would later say he hopes they're never released. Unfortunately, it appears he got his way, as there's nothing here that suggests we'll see Gorr the God Butcher interacting with those characters.
On the plus side, we are getting more Zeus and additional scenes with the Guardians of the Galaxy. We'd have liked to see more of Gorr, but no such luck here.
The special features are otherwise what we've come to expect from these Blu-ray releases, though an Audio Commentary from Waititi is sure to result in lots of fun new facts about Thor: Love and Thunder being revealed.
