THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER Concept Art Sees The Grandmaster Welcome The Movie's Heroes To "Moon Of Shame"

More Thor: Love and Thunder concept art has been revealed, with The Grandmaster welcoming Thor, The Mighty Thor, and Valkyrie to the Moon of Shame. Take a closer look at this cut scene from the film here!

When Christian Bale revealed that he had shot scenes for Thor: Love and Thunder with Jeff Goldblum and Peter Dinklage, fans immediately began to wonder why Marvel Studios would cut what sounded like two huge interactions for Gorr the God Butcher.

Neither The Grandmaster nor Eitri were ultimately included in the movie, though this latest batch of concept art shows the former welcoming Thor, The Mighty Thor, and Valkyrie to the "Moon of Shame." The Thor: Ragnarok antagonist appears to have a fully robotic body and seems to be living on the colourless moon where our heroes ultimately confronted Gorr.

It's clear that this is no mere deleted scene, and suggests that Marvel Studios did, in fact, cut an entire subplot revolving around the character.

We'd guess that The Grandmaster was brutally attacked by Gorr when the villain went on the warpath, saving himself with a robotic body. From there, Thor: Love and Thunder's heroes would have later found him on that moon, likely learning more about Gorr's plan in the process.

Thor: Love and Thunder ultimately clocked in at less than two hours and was met with middling reviews. The consensus was that the story felt rushed, and director Taika Waititi has made it clear he doesn't ever want to release these deleted scenes (likely explaining why they're nowhere to be found on the upcoming Blu-ray).

"Too silly to take seriously, there’s still a lot to love about Thor: Love and Thunder," we said in our review earlier this year, "but unlike Thor: Ragnarok, it’s unlikely to be a movie you’ll fall in love with. Marvel Studios may be developing a quantity over quality issue."

@ScaryTerry - A shorter list would be what I liked about the movie......

Gorr but not enough god killing and screen time.

Hated the rest of the movie.

I'm sure this would've been a very serious scene that shows the writer and director is over the age of 7.

Korg was too much. I think they were on the right track when it seemed like Zeus killed him. Unfortunately, Taika doesn’t seem interested in taking the character off the table any time soon. Unfortunate because Korg is the most annoying character in the MCU, even more so than Darcy was in Thor’s 1 and 2

I tried to watch this movie again. I seriously couldn't get through it. One unfunny childish moment after the next.

How the **** did this make $746,670,158 when I've only spoken to exactly 2-people that actually admitted to paying to go see this at the theatre??? 🤨

(I work in an mid-sized office with folks that generally like the super-hero genre to one extent or another FYI.) 🤓

@SuperiorHeckler - Terrible movies are actually liked by a lot of people and make a lot of money. Hell, look at what a success Ragnarok was.

Toonstrack

@VictorAlonzo - I enjoyed it. I think its better than Ragnarok. No where near top of the MCU but I appreciate its heart, and I felt the humor wss more strategically placed and gave room for moments with more gravitas surrounding Jane. I would've liked some more screentime for the villain however

Would the grandmaster be considered a god in the mcu?

I enjoyed the movie and I can't wait to watch it at home to see how or if my opinion changes.

One thing I wish we would've gotten is more of how Gods operate outside of asgard. What makes a god "good" and what makes a god "bad" would've been interesting, especially seeing gorr Butcher a "good" god.

Yeah this movie was so disappointing, so much potential. Ragnarok was amazing, perfect tone and comedy for Thor. I loved it.

Then came… whatever this film was. Seemed like a really unfunny skit that just wouldn’t end. Thor became a really unlikeable character because he was just played as too stupid. Which works if it’s funny. Don’t know how Taika lost his hilarious mojo but I feel bad for Marvel. If they’re too hands on, everyone admonishes them for not giving creative freedom and making everything too similar. But now it seems they may be giving some directors too much freedom, some people need their worst impulses quashed. Must be hard to find that middle ground.

Also possible that Marvel Studios are taking their success for granted at the moment, and just churning out properties without much focus on making them as good as possible. Seems like they’re throwing a lot of shit at the wall to see what sticks. And a lot of talk about Feige giving things the nod with a ‘why not, sounds fun’ attitude. Good in theory but sometimes you need more than fun. Case in point; my favourite part of Love and Thunder was the cancer arc. Not reallg what you want your audience to say, but I just wanted something real and genuine to hold on to in the film
