THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER Star Kieron L. Dyer Has High Hopes For Axl's Future In The MCU (Exclusive)

Thor: Love and Thunder surprised everyone by introducing Axl, Heimdall's son. The character doesn't hail from the comic books and was created specifically for this movie, prompting fans to wonder what his role will be in the MCU moving forward.

After all, nothing happens without good reason in this shared world, and there has to be a reason for a kid with Heimdall's power to show up now. Yes, he was crucial to this particular movie's story, but with the likes of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars on the horizon, you have to believe we'll see more of Axl again soon.

Talking to us about the upcoming home entertainment release of Thor: Love and Thunder, Axl actor Kieron L. Dyer chose his words carefully when we asked what he hopes the future holds in store for his young Asgardian hero.

"I have absolutely no idea what Marvel is going to do! I’m not sure at the moment," he admitted. "I’m just going to wait and see, but yeah..." When we put it to him that Axl's powers could be crucial to what comes next for Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Dyer added: "I would absolutely love to be in any of those films. I would love to. I have no idea."

Later in our interview, we asked Kieron if he did any comic book research for this role and he tells us in the video above that learning more about Heimdall's powers was key for him.

"I definitely looked into The Mighty Thor comics by Jason Aaron, but I also looked a lot more into Heimdall as well...I kind of looked into his abilities and his powers from the movies and comics just to see what Axl could maybe inherit in a future film," the actor tells us. "That was my preparation because Axl isn’t in the comics so it was more of a case of looking at Heimdall."

We're certainly intrigued to see what comes next for Axl, and seeing as he boasts what appears to be an even more powerful version of his father's powers, he'll surely be crucial in future stories. At the end of Thor: Love and Thunder, Sif was teaching him how to fight, so by the time we see him next, there's a good chance he'll be a full-blown warrior!

Thor: Love and Thunder is now available on Digital and will be available on 4K, Blu-ray and DVD September 27.

Um...no, no thank you.

I could see them using his ability one time, but besides that...

I'm sure Taika will have learned from the criticism, but time for a change of pace again, just as when he joined for Ragnarok. I liked the movie, but it had a plethora of issues (whether as a result of post-production or not). But, per this article, it's not a character that really clamors for more appearances.

It's one thing to drop the ball. That's a terrible thing. This is worse. Not only did they drop the ball. They poked a hole in the ball, squeezed the air out of the ball, then tossed the ball down the sewer.

Seeeing the Northman and Love & Thunder in the same year, is entertainment irony at it's finest. Or worst. I haven't decided yet...

Kieron seems like a nice kid. Enjoy the check. Use the acting credit. Move on.

@VictorAlonzo - Thor 4 is one of the weakest MCU entries not gonna dispute that, but do think Northman is a tad overrated. Plot was very basic and characters not that interesting, action was really good though. Just my opinion.

@VictorAlonzo - Northman was overated to hell. Straight trash. Biggest dissapointment of the year. I waited for that movie for 2 years. I just knew it would be best of the year. But nope.

Nothing against the kid, but the children were one of the worst things about that movie, save for maybe that last fight scene where they get powers... But then again why has he never used that sharing power ability before? Sure would have helped in some battles.

@Urubrodi - The scene with the kids fighting I found very cheesy overall.
As far as Thor not imbuing his powers to others, I think it's just something they glossed over to thinly. As Thor Odinson, he has the power to now cast enchantments (as he did with the kids' weapons, and with Mjolnir earlier to protect Jane). But they didn't really address that power that he now possesses properly. That's one of the reasons I liked the Zeus deleted scene with the thunderbolt. Though it didn't directly speak about Thor's ability, it served as placeholder for one of his conversations with Odin that served his inspiration and will.

@Urubrodi - I, for one, found it extremely wrong that Thor would just send children to fight.

@Urubrodi - pre ragnarok thor thought his powers came from the hammer so he probably didn’t think that was a thing
