Major spoilers for Thor: Love and Thunder follow.

Over the course of Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok follow-up, the freshly-anointed Mighty Thor, aka Doctor Jane Foster, attempts to come up with a superhero catchphrase of her own. Jane fires out a few less than stellar efforts (though we quite liked "eat my hammer"), before finally coming up with one she's happy with... right before she dies!

As Jane succumbs to her cancer in Thor's arms, she whispers her catchphrase in his ear. The Mighty Avenger responds with a smile ("it's perfect"), but we don't get to hear what she said, and it sounds like we may never find out!

"That scene was really, really fun to shoot," Natalie Portman said of Jane and Thor's final exchange during an interview with Cinemablend. "And yes, there is a specific line, but I will never reveal it."

We assume Waititi and Chris Hemsworth (at the very least) also know what was said, so there's a chance someone will spill the beans down the line. As for Jane, we saw her pass on to Valhalla in the movie's post-credits scene, where she was greeted by Idris Elba's Heimdall.

Some have taken this an an indication that Foster could return, but we saw it more as a farewell to the character as she ascends to the afterlife. Of course, the introduction of the Multiverse means we could always see a Jane Variant in The MCU at some point!

Thor: Love and Thunder finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.

Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Directed by Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit) and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, Thor: Love and Thunder  is now playing in theaters.

So pointless. Does anyone really genuinely care? What could she possibly say that would be of any significance?

It probably was another joke, and also wasn't funny.

@Vigor - uh... what does that even mean? I cared enough to comment? Okay.... I commented.... that means what? I was bored enough to give my opinion that I don't care.... that means what in the context of my point? Furthermore, wtf is your point? Lol

I like the non reveal. Let's people decide for themselves what she said. Also Natalie looked great as the Mighty Thor.

True story: Her last words were, "Did you know switching to Geico could save you 15% or more on car insurance?"

Her catchphrase sucked, her character sucked, this movie sucked, and I'm tired of Waititi's himbo Thor beyond comprehension...

@defenderofthefaith - Oh, I saw it, believe me. I saw the whole thing. I saw that horrendous scene with [SPOILER FOR SHITTY CGI EFFECTS) Heimdall's "son" (who never existed before) and Jane's awful "Eat my hammer!"
