Despite the immense success Marvel films have experienced in recent years, there are still several actors in the business that are reluctant to sign one of Marvel's now famous multi-picture contracts, Joaquin Phoenix being a recent example, as many consider the long-term commitment a potential hindrance to pursuing other projects. However, there are several actors currently under-contract with Marvel that are more positive as many including Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans have experienced career rejuvenations following their appearances in Marvel films, while others like Chris Hemsworth, Hayley AtwellCobie Smulders, and Chris Pratt have seen their careers take a positive upswing following their first MCU appearances. While rumors have circulated that some of the current MCU actors may be looking to move on following the end of their current contracts, it doesn't look like Chris Hemsworth is one of them. Check him out in the video below as he shares his thoughts on his Marvel contract.

Prior to the release of 2011's Thor, the Australian Hemsworth was a relative unknown, his biggest role having been a brief appearance as Captain Kirk's father George in 2009's Star Trek. Following his first appearance as Thor, Hemsworth was able to land lead roles in two Ron Howard films: Rush & In The Heart of the Sea, the Joss Whedon-produced The Cabin In The Woods, Michael Mann's Blackhat, and Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman. Additionally, he has reprised his Thor role twice already in 2012's The Avengers & 2013's Thor: The Dark World. He is also set to wield Mjölnir once again this May in Avengers: Age of Ultron and in 2017's Thor: Ragnarok.

Marvel Studios presents “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

Avengers: Age of Ultron features:
Director: Joss Whedon
Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man
Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America
Chris Hemsworth as Thor
Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk
Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow
Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye
Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury
Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill
James Spader as Ultron
Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch
Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver
Paul Bettany as Vision
Don Cheadle as Col. James "Rhodey" Rhodes/War Machine
Stellan Skarsgård as Erik Selvig
Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter
Idris Elba as Heimdall
Tom Hiddleston as Loki
Thomas Kretschmann as Baron Wolfgang von Strucker
Claudia Kim as Dr. Cho
Andy Serkis as Ulysses Klaw

Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters May 1, 2015

Actually, I believe it was Cabin in the Woods that got him a recommendation from Whedon to play Thor. It was in production before Thor but released after.

Before he was cast as Thor he was in a crappy Australian television show called "Home and Away" and mediocre movies.

Now look at him, he's Thor and now he's getting more recognition around Hollywood.

I'm a big Michael Mann fan. I'll be seeing blackhat for sure. Looks interesting. Hemsworth has been a great Thor.

Too bad his films are the weakest of MCU. Hopefully Thor: Ragnarok will be the Thor film.

He IS Thor!

Great to see actors that are thankful for their breakout roles.

I've enjoyed both Thor movies and he has been great as the character, no matter what anyone thinks of the movies themselves.

Hemsworth IS Thor, like Jackman IS Wolverine, Reeve IS Superman, and Downey IS Iron Man.

Love Hemsworth. He was the best part of Star Trek. Ron Howard keeps working with him for a reason. He was great in Rush. Can't wait to see In the Heart of the Sea.

Love Thor. Ragnarok is going to blow the doors off. Feige knows what's up. Haters can suck it.

But yeah - wear the friggin helmet already!

He's a perfect Thor. Too bad TDW was a mess. Hopefully, Ragnarok is an epic fantasy that it should be.
