BUMBLEBEE Image Reveals New Decepticon Characters Voiced By Angela Bassett And Justin Theroux

Another new official still from the upcoming Bumblebee movie gives us a first look at new Decepticon villains Shatter and Dropkick, who will be brought to life by Angela Bassett And Justin Theroux...

The trailer for Bumblebee revealed that our old friend Starscream would be on villain duties (although the director seems to be playing coy about that for the time being), but it looks like Magatron's right-hand robot will have some backup in the form of two brand new Decepticon characters.

Shatter (Angela Bassett) and Dropkick (Justin Theroux) are a pair of muscle cars - a cherry-red Plymouth Satellite and a blue AMC Javelin, respectively - who will be pursuing 'Bee and his new human friend played by Hailee Steinfeld.

They certainly look formidable, but director Travis Knight promises that these bad guys will have a lot more personality than the usual Transformers antagonists:

“When the cast is too big, and you have a finite amount of time, there’s only so much you can do to create an investment in them. This is a more personal, intimate, and character-driven story, so it felt right to keep the villain plot relatively simple and contained. If you keep things lean, you can add a lot of other stuff on top of it that makes it more enjoyable.”

whoa, the Decepticons look like actual robots with vehicle forms instead of grey masses of jumbled scrap.
I'm guessing these two are working for Starscream.

I think this looks good. I'm very cautious, but optimistic.

Those aren’t Transformers movie antagonists... Bright colors? Definable shapes? A *gasp* female voice actor? Get out.

All Transformers movie after the first 3 have been garbage. It was hard to make it through them honestly. I don't think it is enough to make me buy a ticket, but it sounds like they're moving in a good direction with Bee.

All Transformers movies have been garbage. People are *way* too kind on that first one.

@Chewtoy - the first one is dumb, but is a hell of a lot more restrained than the sequels. you can almost feel the Spielberg vibe trying to break through the usual Bay-isms. the sequels lost that and went full *insert Tropic Thunder gif here*

Travis Knight did good work with Kubo and the trailer for this was good so I'm super interested.

Shockingly everything I’ve seen for this has looked good so far imo. I’ll wait for reviews for sure but until then I’m very optimistic about this film!

Really hoping this ends uop being a soft reboot to the franchise. The look of the robots is much better than the previous movies, and yet still has some of the aesthetics. I don't think they should start all over but definitely use this as a stepping stone for the newer films.

I'd rather see a transformer voiced by Louis Theroux!

I’ve always been a huge fan of Transformers, particularly the G1 and Beast Wars stuff. I have a soft spot for the movies, especially T1 and T3, but I agree that the entire movie universe has had more downs than ups. But with that being said, my son will turn 3 in September and he’s a HUGE fan of Transformers (mostly the new cartoons and what not), but he still knows who so many characters are. Not surprisingly, his favorites are Bumblebee and Optimus. For his first movie theater experience, I think I’ll take him to see this. He’s still so young, but after watching the trailer, I couldn’t imagine a better movie and time to take him to his first movie. Sorry for the long post, but growing up and loving Transforners, only now to see my own son share that love, gets me all emotional man. The emotions!!! Alright, long post over. I can’t be the only dad on here who feels this way about the whole “first movie experience” and what not!
