Shie LaBeouf Dishes on What it was Like Filming The Transformer Movies

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Shia LeBeouf wasn't hesitant to reveal what his experience was like filming for the Transormer series, saying it felt like having "a finger up your ass". He went on to state that he is completely over big budget movies in favor of small indie films:

"I'm done ... There's no room for being a visionary in the studio system. It literally cannot exist. You give Terrence Malick a movie like 'Transformers', and he's f**ked. There's no way for him to exist in that world."

He didn't go without talking about the film makers of his upcoming film, Lawless:

"These dudes are a miracle ... They give you the money, and they trust you -- [unlike the studios, which] give you the money, then get on a plane and come to the set and stick a finger up your ass and chase you around for five months."

Well, any chance of seeing him in Transformers 4 just went up in smoke. Transformers 4 is supposed to hit theaters June 29, 2014.

Yeah, the whole world was just hanging on your decision, Labeouf. We were all wondering whether or not you would fill the casting requirement for "self-indulgent, hipster, douche, asshole" or if the studio would have to cast for it. Unfortunately, I'm all out of [frick]s to give for Shia Labeouf or his decisions.

oh god, shia la beouf talks about visionaries??? DAFUQ???
i think that he's the worst piece of shit in the star system. He got no talent, he is arrogant and even the worst young actor of the moment.

I've yet to see a movie where this guy isn't acting as Sam Witwicky.

Transformers (2007) still rocks though

This [frick]er thinks a little too highly of himself, doesn´t he?

I do hope he's not referring to himself as a "visionary". I wonder which film he did to give himself that erroneous opinion of his acting abilities? Must have been "I, Robot."

I think his visionary comment means that you can't have or use your own ideas when your making big budget studio films, I like this kid, some of you are hating on him because you say he's arrogant. Yet Bale is a Huge arrogant dbag, and gets praised up and down?

I actually like Shia LeBeouf, mainly because I could relate to him in every movie he did even if the movie was shit

I bet Labeouf wishes he was on the level of JGL at the moment, JGL is the only young actor i like and enjoy the films he does...Shia missed the boat on becoming a respectable young actor by his attitude and the level of acting and roles he chooses.

@jessepostal...Yeah but the difference is Bale can act, can u honestly say the same about Shia?

@bane, obviously the kid can act, look at his job sheet. Look at how many big roles he's had. He's also a lot younger than Bale.He's got room to grow as an actor.Jgl started off the same way and now he's finally starting to become a good actor. Just because you don't like him doesn't mean the kid doesn't do his job well

@jessepostal

I agree he does have room and time to grow, but he also needs to know to be appreciative of what made him a public image and wat made him a star { Transformers }, why complain about it now, he already got paid and for sure wasnt gonna be in the next one, theres no point, just makes him look bad.

jessepostal - 8/17/2012, 3:57 PM
@bane, i don't see how he isnt. He didn't say anything bad about transformers,he was talking about big studios

There's no room for being a visionary in the studio system. It literally cannot exist. You give Terrence Malick a movie like 'Transformers', and he's f**ked. There's no way for him to exist in that world."

he only mentions transformers as a comparison to how big a movie can be

@jesse postal

I agree. A lot of people rip this kid for being an arrogant & naive child actor turned leading man/boyman, but you do have to admire the fact that his tesitcles recently dropped. He seems to want more quality work(like Twilight Pattison?)these days so you have to respect that. Shia has had his d-bag days: calling out Spielberg, pouring hot coffee on paparazzi(I support), getting his ass dropped @local bars, etc. I have a feeling Hardy was joking around in that interview.

Bale can come off as an eccentric.., but his films have been successful from the start of his career as a child actor to now: Empire of the Sun, American Psycho, Equilibrium, 3:10 to Yuma, The Prestige & the recent Bat-trilogy.

I always say "Enough LeBeouf", but I actually respect his comment. And I'm looking forward to Lawless. The Proposition and The Road are actually good movies.
