With Transformers: The Last Knight now right around the corner, Paramount Pictures has released a very cool set of character posters for the movie. We've already seen the one featuring Anthony Hopkins, but the rest put the spotlight on various Autobots, Decepticons, and humans, providing each with a tagline about what they'll be getting up to in the fifth instalment of the long-running franchise.

Unfortunately, it appears as if the beloved Optimus Prime now fits into the category of Decepticon!

Set to be released on June 23rd this year, Transformers: The Last Knight will feature the return of Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager as well as new roles for Isabela Moner and Jerrod Carmichael. With Bay back in the director’s chair, the screenplay for the movie was written by Iron Man's Art Marcum and Matt Holloway along with Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down). Plot details are currently being kept under wraps, but the signs are pointing to this movie making a real effort to expand on the franchise's mythology.

The invent and sacrifice tags sounds like a possible spoiler

@malsemarcel - I think sacrifice is meant to be a reference to "No sacrifice, no victory", the Witwicky motto. He also says it in one of the trailers.

@eagc1995 - hopefully the body he belongs to is less humanoid

@Mark45 - If his toy is any indication, his body will be a more buffed up versino of his headmaster form, but less humanoid

@eagc1995 - that does look really cool, but I'm a bit concerned that they'll find a way to make the Aston Martin transform into an exact copy of his headmaster model, just at a larger scale.

Probably an unjustified worry, but the designs have gotten way more humanoid and it kind of looks like the toy is trying to replicate his headmaster.

I smell a plot twist.

Then again, in order to have a plot twist, you would first need to have a plot, which is something I seriously doubt this movie has.

@SeaborneLegend - That looks like a badge / tag. You can see the similar mark on his other arm too if you look at the bigger size pic just under the lens flare.

Why does Bumblebee have a Thunder Hammer?

THEres no doubt this movie will suck but on the other hand the running time will be short so it probably won't be as bad as the previous ones and the writers of the movie also worked on the first Iron Man though it's still a Michael Bay movie.

@tb86 - The one thing that gives me even the tiniest (and I mean TINIEST) amount of hope for this is that Ehren Kruger is nowhere to be found, and the last time Bay worked with people who wrote for the MCU, it came out pretty awesome.

And then I remember that Akiva Goldsman is involved and I shut my mouth.
