New TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT Featurette Gives Us A Look At Sir Anthony Hopkins In Character

There were rumors that Sir Anthony Hopkins might be playing King Arthur's father in the next Transformers movie, but this new featurette would seem to debunk that. Plus, meet Britain's loneliest dog...

Not a fan of Michael Bay? You might be after watching this latest Transformers: The Last Knight featurette. The Director heard about a six-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier cross named Freya - who had been dubbed "Britain's loneliest dog" after spending 6 years in a shelter, and being rejected by 18,000 potential owners - and decided to give her a part in the movie.

Freya (who you'll be pleased to hear has since been adopted by one of the crew members) plays Anthony Hopkins' character's pooch in the movie, and both can be seen together in the video below. As you can see, unless Uther Pendragon had access to a very modern wardrobe, Hopkins is playing someone else entirely.

Transformers: The Last Knight also stars Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, Stanley Tucci and John Goodman, and is set to hit theaters on June 23, 2017.

If they are smart they will link that character with 'Gus (hunter)' from G1. He was basically a human and had a few other hunters who tried to hunt a large creature that turned out to be a Deception that turned out to be 'Iguanus'

Though either way, i don't expect this film to be good, it'd be nice if they had a reference that didn't ruin a pre-established character and someone fairly obscure like 'Gus' being adapted into the films is a way to be faithful without harming the character's reputation in media.

As much as I wanted to strangle Bay after sitting through Transformers 4, as someone who owns two dogs I gotta give him mad respect for this.

@kylo0607 - Well maybe the role appealed to him, we havent read the script so maybe his character was well written for him to accept or it was just the paycheck or a combination of both.

When the hell did Hopkins get dragged into the "Transformers" world? Does Michael Bay have a sex tape or something on him? "Sir Anthony Hopkins and Dame Maggie Smith in the X-Rated event of the century... last century, almost the one before that even..."

Let me get this straight. Hopkins expressed a negative interest in returning as Odin after Thor the Dark World but is 100% completely ok joining the most ass franchise on the market?

And the DCEU isn't a franchise. It has not even legitately started.
