The Transformers: The Last Knight marketing campaign is currently focusing heavily on the role of Autobots and Decepticons in Earth's history and the latest poster for the movie pits Bumblebee against the Nazis. It's hard not to wonder if the studio is considering setting his upcoming solo outing during this period as that would certainly be something new and interesting for the franchise if it's done well.

Set to be released on June 23rd this year, Transformers: The Last Knight will feature the return of Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager as well as new roles for Isabela Moner and Jerrod Carmichael. With Bay back in the director’s chair, the screenplay for the movie was written by Iron Man's Art Marcum and Matt Holloway along with Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down). Plot details are currently being kept under wraps, but it wouldn't be all that surprising if the studio is planning spinoffs set at some point in the past.

Something about this seems slightly offensive and oversimplifying. I'm not sure what it is, can't put my finger on it. Or, is it not offensive because it's Nazis?

Makes zero sense.

Thats actually not a bad idea considering Bumblebee was originally a Volkswagen beetle and Hitler and the Nazi i believe commissioned those vehicles for their versatility to change out parts for tanks and stuff. Which should mean we get Beetle fighting Bumblebee.

I don't get the people b1tching about Bumblebee taking on the Nazis somehow being offensive because it toys with a dark part of history. I guess you guys aren't fans of Indiana Jones.
