TheHero presents TRANSFORMERS: ROBOT IN DISGUISE!!!!

My vision for a Transformers Movie Reboot

Overview:

Dissatisfied with the franchise, I originally developed this back in June of last year and was planning to publish it then. But after seeing Age of Extinction, I questioned my lack of faith in the franchise and whether or not it was salvageable.

So, is it? Maybe

But, in order for it to, I think Bay should step down and a new director should replace him along with a new crew (writers, editors, cinematographers, etc.) The current cast and characters, (with the exception of Tessa and her boyfriend, who I believed their stories were completed in AOE) can stay.

So, in technicality, this is more or so a What If than a proposed reboot:

But anyways, the vision that I have for the franchise is that would be more similar to the first film and J.J. Abrams 2011 film Super 8. Essentially, the character development of Super 8 combined with the action of the first Transformers film.

So, without further to do: TheHero presents TRANSFORMERS: ROBOT IN DISGUISE!!!!

PremiseA solider returns home from service, only to become involved an intergalactic war between two alien species.

Crew:

Directed by Gareth Edwards
Filmography: Monsters (2010), Godzilla (2014)

Reason: Now, I haven't seen Monsters yet but I felt his take on Godzilla was spot-on and I think he would do an excellent job on bring a unique spin on the Transformers franchise. Plus, Edwards can work well with the actors and I feel that would beneficial to the film itself.

Written by Drew Goddard (Alias, Cloverfield, The Cabin in the Woods) & Gareth Edwards (Monsters, Godzilla)

Reason: I was impressed with his directorial debut The Cabin in the Woods, as well as his screenplay for J.J. Abrams' Cloverfield. I think he would do a great job in working with Edwards on bringing the characters life.

Cast:

Max Theriot as James "Spike" Witwicky

Reason: I originally considered Mike Vogel for the role, but at 34 I felt he was too old. Anyways, I feel that Theriot has this weary look on him. Like he's been through a lot. I think he can bring that to the role.

Character Description: A former solider with no respect for local authority, Spike becomes friends with Optimus Prime (who is trying to become a leader himself) and ultimately joins in the quest to find the Matrix of Leadership.

Emma Watson as Carly Miller

Reason: Ironically Watson was my first and only choice. I feel that her performance in Noah and The Perks of Being A Wallflower shows how much she has grown up since the Harry Potter films and how capable of an actress she is.

Character Description: A young woman forced into a parenting role, Carly is the "mother" to the Miller family and has to take care of her brother, Chase. When she meets Spike for the first time, Carly sees a kindred spirit in him one that has been hardened by years of pain and misery.

Ty Simpkins as Clark Miller

Reason: Now, I'm one of the few that liked Iron Man 3 but like many, I feared that Simpkins' Harley would have been a plot device or (worse) comic relief.

Luckily, he wasn't.

Instead, Simpkins played the character more or so as a wise-cracker and it felt like a departure from the basic child plot device. I feel that Simpkins can bring some humor as well as some dramatic depth into the role.

Character Description: An ordinary kid at the brink of puberty, Clark was very young when his mother passed. He blocks the pain of her betrayal with inventions that he creates. He is also criticized for being the youngest, something that he shares with Bumblebee who Clark forms a friendship with.

Nathan Fillion as Sheriff John Miller

Reason: I LOVE Nathan Fillion. He is amazing as the charming, (but douchey) Captain Hammer from Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, the rebellious Malcolm Reynolds from the cult-favorite Firefly and the creepy Caleb from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I feel he can bring humor and a dramatic presence to the Sheriff.

Character Description: A heartbroken man, Miller puts the blame of his wife's death on the Witwickys and disapproves of his daughter Carly's relationship with Spike.

Kyle Chandler as Dr. Robinson

Reason: I've only seen Chandler in the films Super 8 & The Wolf of Wall Street, but I feel that he has the resiliency for Robinson and would give an excellent performance.

Character Description: Robinson is mostly a pushover, but throughout the plot he develops a backbone to his superior, General Campbell

Gary Oldman as General Campbell

Reason: I originally considered Victor Garber and Bryan Cranston for the role, but wanted to go with someone different. Even though he is played a similar role in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, I think Oldman would be great for the role because he can easily ease into to a villainous role while giving the character a hint of Sympathy.

Character Description: Campbell is the human villain and while he not as evil as Megatron, he does has have a distaste for people that try and get in his way

And

Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Ronald "Sparkplug" Witwicky

Reason: I am huge fan of Papa Winchecter on Supernatural, as well as his other shows and films. I think he is great for this role because Morgan can show several sides of himself without it become forced.

Character Description: An old man with a lot of guilt in him, Ronald is the mechanic that ties up our (human) story. He is the man that went into an affair with the sheriff's wife, Meredith.

Autobots:

Note: I am not familiar with Voice Actors, so I didn't bother to cast them. If anyone have any suggestions, please leave them in the comments)

Optimus Prime: A Peterbuilt 379 truck
Character Description: Unlike most incarnations, Optimus is a young leader that is trying to live up the ideals of his ancestors. But, he has trouble doing so and stumbles as a leader.

Bumblebee: 1969 Chevrolet Camero
Character Description: Bee is the youngest among the Autobots. With him, it's more about fitting in. With this, Bee becomes friends with Clark and helps out Sam and Carly in finding the Matrix of Leadership

Jazz: Pontiac Soltice 2013
Character Description: Jazz is the cool guy among the Autobots. He might be a bit cocky, but he also has a heart for his teammate.

Arcee: Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R/ ZX 1000
Character Description: A badass in disguise, Arcee is the sole female member of the Autobots. Arcee is a headstrong person that takes no for an answer. She has a brotherly relationship with Jazz and a romantic one with Ironhide.

Ironhide: Hummer HX
Character Description: Ironhide is considered the muscle of the Autobots. He is profess that he loves his guns more than himself. While that is true, he also loves Arcee and butts heads with Jazz. Ironhide is loyal and determined to the cause.

Ratchet: Hummer H2
Character Description: Ratchet is the brain and heart of the Autobots. He is humble, kind, and there when you need him.

Deceptcions:

Megatron: A Cybertronian Jet
Character Description: Megatron is the main villain of the film. He is cruel, sadistic, and cunningly evil. In comparison, he is the evil version of General Campbell.

Starscream: An F-22 Raptor
Character Description: Starscream is the second-in-command of the Decepticons. He is ruthless and cruel, but also very cocky and wants to take control of the Decepticons.

Soundwave: A Boeing AH-64 Apache
Character Description: Despite being Starscream's partner-in-crime, he is still loyal to Meagtron and is the spy among the three of them.

Lockdown: Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG
Character Description: Like his previous incarnations, Lockdown is the person that doesn't like to take orders from others and prefers to do things his own way.

Valentine: a Black Audi R8
Character Description: Valentine is essentially the evil version of Arcee. However, she is a bit more of a loose cannon and gets deadlier by the second.

Brawler: An M1 Abrams tank
Character Description: Brawler is a mindless animal that leaves destruction in its wake.

Also, I am creating a full-length story for this, so make sure you guys keep a lookout for that.

Anyways, thanks for reading!

Yeah pictures would help, but good article none the less.

I do think T5 should straight up scrap human characters unless they're like soldiers in minor/supporting roles. I'd love for the transformers to be motion captured by actors. Making them a little more human. We also could throw the star power in them instead of using celebrities as humans.

I want Liam Neeson as Optimus. That'd be badass.
