Once again it seems with the major flack received critically, the film still continues to shatter records...this time in the home entertainment realm.

About two weeks ago, I posted an article about "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," being the biggest selling home entertainment film of 2009. It seems that title didn't take "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" much time to dismantle. In fact, it took only a week to take over the reign of biggest selling DVD/Blu-ray of 2009.

The film was released last Tuesday on October 20th. On the first day alone, 2 million disc, with 500,000 of them being on the Blu-ray format. In total, the film sold 7.5 million disc; 6.3 million on the DVD format, whereas the other 1.2 million went to the owners of Blu-ray players.

The film is currently holding the number one position on three sales charts...the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart, Home Media Magazine's rental chart and the Nielsen VideoScan Blu-ray Disc sales chart.

Whispers68: I didn't have the chance to purchase the Blu-ray last week but my girlfriend and I went out on Tuesday where Best Buy was nearby so I wasn't hesitant on buying it on Blu-ray. I must say the film isn't the best film ever created of course, but the visual effects and the loud explosions on my surround sound allowed it to be one of the best movie experiences I've had at home with an action film in quite some time. I don't think I've turned it up this loud except while watching "The Dark Knight," "300" or the original Transformers film. I doubt people bought it for their home media players due to the plot, dog scenes, etc. It's mainly; if similar to me; the film is one of the best films to display on your LCD/Plasma and surround sound. Each time they transform...wow. The sound echoes one heck of a thunderous shatter through my rear speakers. I actually hear things not noticed the first time around while viewing the film in theaters.

As I said, this isn't a plot driven film and I'm not stating that as a scapegoat but the film unlike many action films, warrant the usage of two items...surround sound and LCD/Plasma. When you have both along with a high definition cable, this is the film that truly displays high definition capabilities.

@Tebag

I can hear her now if she's anything like my girlfriend when I place my surround sound on Blast..."Wow, that's pretty loud."

I simply say, "Can you adjust the volume while sitting inside a theater? How come you don't mind there?" She always laughs when I ask so I reply, "What's the problem?" LOL she knows my LCD/Surround sound and Blu-ray is my place of peace so when I crank my volume up to that level, something I'm watching must be really keeping me on cloud nine

Dude, I've been tossing around with the LED matter for perhaps the better half of five or so months. I have three (2 Samsung and 1 Toshiba) on my list and then I threw in more options but this time on the Plasma route so the list is now at maybe seven TV's that I have to choose from. But I decided it's best to get the upgrade I deserve when I settle into my new place. Which one do you have? Brand, Model?

I used to get that when my older sister gave birth to my niece. I just love the sound you hear, especially through your rear speakers on certain scenes. As I mentioned above, the scenes that get me going are the ones where they transform. Wow! You hear every transition of their structure going through each change. It sounds silly but that particular situation was always why I loved the original Transformers via surround sound at home. When Megatron flies by or when Soundwave blasted the feline-like Transformer from outer space where it landed by the military base and he started running towards the facility...dude, just awesome!

Funny thing, Samsung and Sony have an alliance when it comes to their screens because their monitors are interchangeable, meaning the Sony LCD someone may purchase was actually a Samsung monitor that had the Sony name slapped onto it and vice-versa. It's a venture they started in 2006. There are many brands who practice this but are still "competitors" at the end of the day

My current LCD is Samsung but I'm definitely going to give that away soon

@Teabag

Is that the Samsung UE46-B7000? If so, do you have or ever had clouding issues with the screen?

It is not a surprise that X-Men Origins: Wolverine is the biggest selling home entertainment film of 2009. I have seen this movie for several times and I really liked it a lot. It is really great to see that there are many fans of this movie. Well, I really recommend X-Mens for other people and I promise that no one will be regret about it. Thanks a lot for the ability to express my own opinion and keep up publishing this attractive information in the future too. Regards, Jeremy Patton from easy share gallery
