To start things off, Transformers Revenge of the fallen is a movie that speaks out to many of its fans, being one of the most memorable things in the history of Transformers. Looking back on this movie, it makes me wonder; why did so many people bash it? I can understand it wasn’t the best idea for a sequel out there but it was good enough for what it was, and I do believe that this movie does not get enough credit for what it has brought to the table.
Now seeing as how this movie was one of the biggest and most anticipated movies out there, a lot of people, both fans and non-fans of transformers went to go see it, and unfortunately most disliked it due to its lack of a good story, character development, etc. I can see where people are coming from when they say this but judging from the reviews I have read on this movie almost all of them make it look like the worst movie ever made, and because of this, the people that have not watched it, did not, or so I would imagine. In all honesty, it disappoints me to see that people hated it, so in this review you will get the review of both a non-transformer fan and a true transformer fan.
Plot
So, basically the film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is the sequel to its 2007 prequel Transformers the Movie, and a stunning one at that. Like its 2007 prequel, this movie opens up with Optimus prime narrating something about their past which appeared to be the humans meeting up with the transformers before they even knew it, as well their present mission. This was then followed by a flashy battle between N.E.S.T and the two decepticons Demolishor and Sideways which was amazing. Afterward it went to the N.E.S.T base where Optimus and the humans discussed their mission in Shanghai and how much of a disaster it was which then lead to the immanent conclusion of the Autobots leaving earth.
Moments later it switches over to the Witwicky residents where we find out that Sam is leaving for college. In this scene we also find out that Sam held onto half of the all-spark shard and in doing so, Sam, while looking at, is mentally injected with its knowledge of the cybertronians’ past. At this point, we know that Sam has become an official part of this war. He then drops the shard due to burn and after burning through the floor and landing on the table on the lower floor it brings all of his house hold items to life soon leading to him calling out Bumble bee and having him exterminate all of the killer bots. Afterward, a government squad arrives along with Mikaela who Sam then quickly finds and gives the shard fragment to. Long story short Sam then takes off to college where he meets his new buddy Leo.
In college Sam meets a lot of new people plus one that turns out to be a human sized decepticon known as Alice. (Note: This is the part of the movie where things start to take off). Oh, did I mention that they brought back Megatron? This resolved in Megatron meeting up with Fallen on cybertron and finding out that Sam has some knowledge of the transformers’ past and that his objective now is to find and kill Optimus in order to bring back his nullified leader Fallen. As I was saying, a lot of things happen to Sam in college, one of which is him having mental meltdowns of cybertron and its past. (I am just going to speed things up). So, after Sam’s mental meltdown in his astronomy class, he calls Mikaela who then comes over only to find that Alice has Sam pinned down ready to steal his knowledge of the all-spark which then turns into her transforming and chasing Sam, Mikaela, and Leo down. Eventually Alice is killed by Mikaela running her over, and they take off but unfortunately they are taken by decepticon Grindor and brought to Megtron who attempts to cut Sams head open and take his knowledge of the all-spark. Too bad for Megatron, Optimus and Bumble bee enter to save the day, and again, Optimus tries to get Sam away from Megatron which fails as this leads to probably one of the greatest movie battles I have ever seen in my life. While protecting Sam, Optimus fights Grindor, Meagtron, and Starscream all at the same time, only killing one until Megatron comes up and shanks him from behind.
(Here i’m going to skip ALOT!) After Optimus dies, Fallen comes to life, the decepticons reveal themselves to the earth and the autobots are put away. Sam goes to meet up with Simmons. Long story short, again, they find Jetfire, go on a mission in Egypt to find the matrix, which they successfully find. A war then brews up in Egypt. (Note: this is the ending war which was f***ing epic). Here we see Devastator who Mudflap and Skids fight (really cool), climb on the pyramid hiding the big “sun killer” gun and reveals it, but sadly this is where he is shot down by a rail-gun blast which Simmons called in for. After that, we find Sam and Mikaela running through crossfire to Optimus’ dead body like dumbasses. Jetfire arrives on the scene, kicks some ass, etc. Once they get through the crossfire to Lennox, they then run through the battle field while planes are bombing the whole f***ing area and through it all, Megatron tries to shoot Sam, misses, but luckily for him the recoil of the blast sends Sam flying and knocking him out. Just when you think he’s dead, he envisions the primes who tell him that saving Optimus and winning the war was his destiny, so he wakes up off his ass, runs to Optimus’s dead body (which I again forgot to mention the army brought to Egypt which is what sort of started the war there, and again, I forgot to mention that the decepticons are trying to stop Sam from reviving Optimus who is the only one that can kill Fallen who is the only that can use that big sun destroyer which is going to give them shit loads of energon, to make a huge army and take over the world) and revives him by shoving the matrix into Optimus. Optimus wakes up only to find out that the army effed up big time and that he is the only one who can clean up the crap they have caused. So, Fallen drops in, takes the matrix, teleports back to his big gun, and inserts the matrix which will now give his gun enough energy to destroy the sun and achieve victory. Fallen has something else coming his way.

Optimus realizes that he can’t win because 1: The humans blow, 2. The humans blow, and 3. He’s too weak to fight, plus he’s the only one who can kill the Fallen and end this catastrophe. When all hope seemed lost, Jetfire in his weak state suggested that Optimus take his parts, or in other words “combine” and fly up there and kick Fallens ass. Without any option for Optimus, he rips out his spark and drops dead leaving Optimus with only one option... COMBINE! So they do and shit, let me tell you, when he flew up to Fallen, he beat the shit out of him.
Let me explain. Basically Optimus flew up to Fallen and pushed him off the pyrmid and while Megatron was still on it, he shot the sun gun, both destroying it and sending Megatron flying. Optimus and Fallen hit the ground and fought for a bit until Megatron came in only for Optimus to kick his ass. Literally, Optimus cut up Megatron and blasted him through walls of bricks, no sweat. He then returned to the Fallen whos face got ripped off, stabbed and then fist plunged by Optimus. Oh did I forget to mention he crushed Fallens heart? Well he did and in the most epic manner ever.
So that ended that with Megatron and Starscream flying into space (don’t know where) and once again, Sam and Mikaela making out and Optimus giving some heroic speech.
So that’s basically the whole movie summed up for you. Sorry if I was a little late on parts and left some out, I just wanted you to know what happened without questions.
Final Review
Honestly in the eyes of a fan and non-fan, I would have to say that this movie was spectacular with flashy scenes, epic fights and transformations and a fairly good story. People say the story sucked... well no, shut the f*** up because you’re wrong. It was a good story, it just could have happened better and not rushed but it was a good story all around. People also say there were hardly any scenes with Ratchet, and Ironhide, and that there was too much Mudflap and Skids. I can agree that there was too much of those two retards but come on, Ratchet and Ironhide are my favourite characters but they had their time in the first one, let’s see some new guys.
Besides all of this, I have heard people complaining about the weird scenes with the dogs doing it and Sam’s parents. SO WHAT? Dogs doing it, mother eats weed brownies, who gives a shit? Grow a sense of humour for once. Yes I understand it’s transformers but let’s face it, it’s not the most appropriate humour for transformers but it’s there for crying out loud! Look at G1, beast wars, and all of them up until now, have they all not had their odd moments? So please spare the movie your pointless opinions on that and look at this movie for it’s action aspect because incase you haven’t realized it, there is a total of like... 10 minutes with pointless humour out of the whole 2 hours and 30 minutes of the movie. Not sure about you but that stuff is easy to over look. If any critic was smart they would know this was a great movie and definitely does not disappoint.
So, here how I see it overall:
Action: 10/10
I loved the action in this movie. There is nothing about it that made me mad. (except for primes death but he came back so it’s all good)
Humour: 5/10
The humour although not hilarious, it made me chuckle at some parts, like when the dogs were humping each other and the mother was eating brownies with reefer. That stuff made me laugh a bit, not because of what it was but come on, a crazy lady eating drugged brownies and two dogs doing it? That is, in my opinion, “haha – what the f**k?” worthy.
Story: 8/10
Yes, I know what you’re thinking, “8/10? This guy is a dumb ass”, well clearly you’re the dumbass because this was a fantastic story, and it introduced a shit load of memorable moments, which... EEHEM, seeing prime die in real life, watching robots kill each other, oh and how could I forget Wheelie and Leo? Funny ass characters with great moments.
Overall score: 8/10
Transformers Revenge of the Fallen was without a doubt, a great movie, more a less one of those where you have to watch it a few times to get the essence of its greatness. It has its bumps but in my opinion, it is better than it is worse. You may have read some basher reviews on this movie as those are the only kinds of reviews on this movie, but I assure, and take it from somebody whose brain is located not in their ass, this movie is epic. All that bad shit you hear about this movie? Yeah there’s only about 10 minutes of it in the whole movie, and is easily covered by the amazing effects, scenes, and fights in this movie. So if you have not seen this movie, fan or not, go do yourself a favour, stop listening to all those basher reviews and go f***ing watch it.

Mine too Dellamorte that was my biggest disappointment, and why the hell did he sound like Dr. Claw? Is it too much that he has his iconic voice from the cartoons?

I have to respectfully disagree with your review.
I'll give you the action and humor and I'd say 6/10 for story.
But Transformer 2 ROTF's problems are not in those areas. Its in the execution of it all. I didn't mind the first movie focusing on Sam Whitwiky at all. In fact it was a great way of introducing the characters and showing their respect for humanity.
But this was the sequel. We know where the Transformers come from. We know why they are here. So let's focus on the TRANSFORMERS. If they needed the human angle? They could've focused on N.E.S.T missions rather than pointless scenes of Sam's first 2 days at his university. Sam could've still played the same part he played here. But he needn't have been a central character. I grew up watching the cartoons and I was expecting the sequel to be more focused on the Transformers rather than Sam's lack of confidence in himself and his reluctance to lead.
