Megan Fox Slams "Transformers" Director Michael Bay

Megan Fox has said some home truths about Michael Bay...and Bay has told Fox that she is too young to know what she is talking about!

Megan Fox slammed "Transformers" director Michael Bay for focusing more on special effects than acting, but he doesn't mind.

"Well, that's Megan Fox for you," Bay tells the Wall Street Journal. "She says some very ridiculous things because she's 23 years old and she still has a lot of growing to do.

"You roll your eyes when you see statements like that and think, 'Okay Megan, you can do whatever you want. I got it,'" he goes on.

Fox told Entertainment Weekly: "I mean, I can't s--- on this movie because it did give me a career and open all these doors for me. But I don't want to blow smoke up people's a--. People are well aware that this is not a movie about acting."

Bay says he "100 percent disagrees" with Fox.

"Nick Cage wasn't a big actor when I cast him, nor was Ben Affleck before I put him in 'Armageddon.' Shia LaBeouf wasn't a big movie star before he did 'Transformers' -- and then he exploded. Not to mention Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, from 'Bad Boys'," he points out.

Bay thinks Fox could be a little more grateful, though.

"Nobody in the world knew about Megan Fox until I found her and put her in Transformers," he says. "I like to think that I've had some luck in building actors' careers with my films."

Yeah, I'm GLAD someone said it.... Michael Bay is a stupid moron....He wouldnt know a good script if it was to save his life....the first movie at least focused on some sort of character development.

"She says some very ridiculous things because she's 23 years old and she still has a lot of growing to do."

Fu*k you Michael Bay...I'm 23 years old too, if he meant that shes to young to understand that you'd rather sell your EXPLOSIONS than to actually SELL your creative writing work, or character development...than you have alot of growing up as DIRECTOR to do, because you surely dont know what we FANS want.

I'm F'n pissed off now....I frowned upon Fox's comment when she said that "Wonder Woman is a lame character", personally because she probably wont get asked to ACT that PART (personal and biase)....but most of the stuff that comes out off her mouth makes alot of sense, especially if its a profession statement (Which this is).

Megan Fox just got POINTS here!

i read this on yahoo yesterday with some friends and remember saying well maybe Michael bay will learn that just because they are in his movie doesnt mean they care if its good or not
i did like the movie but i did feel it was lacking in some areas and its nice to see the actors.actresses feel the same way

Far be it for me to defend that twit Megan Fox, but Bay shouldn't be throwing stones. I mean he's acting like a teenage boy who got rejected by the hot chick and then starts calling her a whore.

I mean he's right in that she's young but a 10 year old could figure out that Bay's formula for a movie is big explosions with minimal "good" story.

He should have just let this one go. It's one thing to have a 23 year old up and coming no talent actress point out that you're a hack. It's another to lend any credibility to said statements by responding to them.

Once again I think Megan Fox is a no talent twit but she wins this round. Fox 1 Bay 0.

First off Bay, get the [frick] off your TF million dollar high horse you insignificant [frick]!!! The movie that got Cage any recognition in the first place was Raising Arizona. Armageddon was responsible for the kick start Ben Affleck's descent. Shia has a hell of a lot more to do before i concider him a big star. He's just the flavor of the month as Fox is. What kick started Will Smith's carreer was Fresh Prince and became known with Independance Day. Bad Boys was merely decent. Oh and Lawrence is still shit no matter what he does. So you are responsible for [frick] all!!! His next explosion will be his [frick]ing head since it inflated to dangerous proportions!!!

"People are well aware that this is not a movie about acting." If this movie was meant to be a classic with great acting Megan would not have been cast in the first place. She was hired as brainless eye candy and did the job well because that's her real life personality.

Bay's head may be a little too big for his own good but he could do with being a little more grateful-without Transformers Im betting that none of us would have heard of her and her bank balance would definitely be a lot lower! She may not like the movie she's in (and im sure there are a lot of other actors who dont as well) but she aint the most talented actress so until shes in more than a brainless action movie or some B-Movie then she ought to watch what she says before no one will want to hire her!

I hate to say it but Megan Fox has a point Michael bay is getting f-ing lazy. A good story with good acting makes a good movie mixed with the right amoutn of special effects.
superdog
superdog - 7/3/2009, 5:16 PM
Lazy would indicate that at some time bay cared about those things and now is getting lazy and doesn't. He's never cared about those things it's just more obvious now cause more people are seeing his movies

@ superdog....exactly.

I didnt watch Transformers 2...I watched HangOver TWICE. I heard this movie was terrible, lacked acting, had plot holes, and jumped all over the place.

OH yeah, and FART JOKES, and silly comic scenes that were un-needed for the film. I dont get that?

The first one was alright...it was decent....but from all the reviews, and fans, and everything I'll watch Public Enemies or Bruno next week.

Ooooookay!

Bays problem is that hes a [frick]ing douchebag! BUT his ego is too big for him to ever realize it. He believes that just because these moronic, brain fart action movies that he makes draw stacks of cash and propel the actors to stardom that must mean that the acting id great and the movies are quality..i mean they must be..look how much money he has! Its like that ep of South Park with Kanye West. Bay is the movie worlds Kanye West.

I think some directors get a big head when there movies blow up. Just because Fox is young doesn't mean she doesn't know what she is talking about. Iam 1/2 on this one on both side You can't play Transformers with out Special Effects & Transformers has opened a lot of doors for her.

ive seen ROTF and thought it was great. people should be a little more thankfull that someone had the balls to make it in the first place. and for people moaning about plot holes and other stupid nit picky things, here's a few for yer

1) at the end of lord of the rings when the eagles carried frodo off the volcano, why didnt they get one of them to take him there in the first place!?
2)in ironman he uses that power device to run the suit and stop the metal shards from entering his heart and killing him. with all that tech and power why can't he use it to pull the shards out of his body!?
3)how the hell does doc oc in spiderman 2 stand and walk properly with so much wieght on his upper body from the belt and tenticles.

i could go on and on with stupid things like this in ALL films, but then i wouldnt enjoy them so i dont! and if anyone thinks i being stupid, pot..kettle..black!!
WeaponX
WeaponX - 7/4/2009, 8:03 AM
Megan is right, his movie (TF2) is a piece of shit with good effects. Although it's a backhanded bit of truth she's slinging because by focusing the blame for her non-existent acting talent on to Bay's incompetent directing and story telling she's trying to build an idea that she actually can act... she just hasn't "found the right film yet".

A case of pot meet kettle.

Bay is a dick. After watching Bay's movies in the last few years I think it's a safe assumption that he goes home every night and squirts some knuckle soldiers all over military brochures. Bay has two demands for making movies these days 1. Can I blow things up 2. Can the army be in it.
Piotr
Piotr - 7/4/2009, 8:16 AM
@ Cindar, some possible answers to your questions:
1) maybe because the book was written that way
2) I believe the shards were already partially in his heart, to get them completely out would most likely make him bleed to death
3) maybe because he's written like that in the comic books

Please don't try to come up with supposedly 'stupid stuff', especially when you compare it to a completely terrible script like RotF. Sure action and robots are cool, but that doesn't make it a overall good movie.

I'm sure i'm probably one of the only ones who thinks this, but Megan Fox is a stupid bimbo who has no acting skill whatsoever. She is all looks, which is due mostly to makeup. I may not be making friends by saying this, but I agree with Bay. When he says she has growing to do he means she is still young as an actress with no real experience. I saw her on an episode of Two and a Half Men and she pretty much just flaunted her looks and acted all flitty in the role, which is pretty much all she's good at. She's the classic dumb blonde, only she's a brunette. It's a heavy action series, and so she was picked for her looks, not acting ability. IMO, she is total garbage and doesn't really have a future in the industry, though I may be shooting myself in the foot there; it is always POSSIBLE, but I won't hold my breath. She knows she appeals to men, that's why she runs her mouth so much. She knows people will defend her, which is a joke if you ask me. Come on, somebody has to agree with me. I don't really care if Transformers ROF was lacking in character development, it's not about the characters in the first place (the human ones anyway), it's about the robots. I loved the movie. It held my attention, and to be honest, if I'm going to see it at the midnight premiere (which I did), and it's about the Transformers, I want to see a bunch of explosions and loud sounds and robots tearing each other's heads off, not a story about Mikaela and Sam. if I want a character story, I'll go see something else. It's robots, and they're fighting. No need for acting ability or character development. Megan Fox needs to shut it and just sit there and look pretty (though, as I previously stated, I don't really think she is to begin with).
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 7/4/2009, 8:18 AM
Cindar you make good points. All(or most) movies do have plot holes and lapses of logic. But thats not what bothered me about Transformers 2! I didnt see Gollum hump Frodo's leg in LOTR, nor did i see Aunt may get stoned on a hash brownie and jump on someones back in Spiderman! Plot holes i can take, stupid, juvenile, UNFUNNY crap that belongs in a different movie i cant.
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 7/4/2009, 8:24 AM
AdamFalcon Fox has never claimed to be a good actress! She is well aware of her appeal and is running with it, as would anyone in her situation. Bay on the other hand has delusions of himself as some sort of serious auteur just because his movies make a lot of money.

Also "it's about the Transformers, I want to see a bunch of explosions and loud sounds and robots tearing each other's heads off, not a story about Mikaela and Sam."

Exactly! But if you watched the movie you would know that we did indeed get more than enough of Mikaela and Sam, as well as their various mentally challenged friends and family..Thats the reason i was so pissed off with the movie!

She reminds me of those chicks in the GGW vids. Hmm, I might be giving her too much credit for acting. She continues to lower my repect of her with every statement. She needs to learn to shut the f*** up.

i get your points rorshach01, sometimes i think bits in movies should not have been included, but it was there and i laughed. what can i say i grew up with airplane and naked gun. i like action with a bit of stupid humour. i think if it had have been straight down the line serious all the way through i wouldnt have liked it so much. i would have sat there thinking something was missing.

CaptainFalken - 7/4/2009, 8:34 AM
Hey Ror, I get what you're saying, and trust me I wasn't really all too thrilled with the antics of the live characters in it either, I'm just saying it sounds like Fox is trying to beef herself up to be more than she is. I don't know she just pisses me off. In my opinion she is a total joke. She's so concerned with Bay being more interested in special effects, but frankly I'd have liked to see more of it than her trying to get Sam to say "I Love You". That's all I'm saying. It just sounds to me like she thinks she deserves MORE screen time and/or better lines, but honestly I really would rather see less of her. She's just a nuisance to the story of the Transformers. She thinks she deserves more than she really does. That's all I'm saying.

I went twice to see it...once with friends and again with my wife....both time people cheered, clapped and laughed there faces off thre entire movie.

*guess that means they hated it and think Bay is a no talent hack*...lol

Now as for Fox.......all titttys and no brains....and yes 23 is still young and dumb....lol

Hey man i love Airplane and Naked Gun and all of those silly comedies! But the operative word there is comedies. Transformers isnt one. I also like SOME humor is an action movie, but there were more scenes played for(attempted) laughs in that movie than there were for drama..thats a comedy! Bay just has no clue how to pace or structure a movie. I mean at the end, we are in the middle of what is supposed to be a huge, dramatic battle for the fate of the world..and hes cutting to that [frick]tard room mate of Sams crying in the car! Or big, swinging Devastator balls! Seriously! We get it Bay! You like stupid jokes and childish humor, LEAVE IT OUT OF AT LEAST ONE [frick]ING PART OF THE [frick]ING MOVIE!

Sorry! I promised myself i wouldnt go on about this anymore so thats it, no more Tranny 2 talk!

By the way, RaythBane i couldnt care less if everyone on the planet sat in that cinema yukking it up at the dogs humping, its still a very flawed movie. A big group of people liking it does not change that. After all, lots of people like The Black Eyed Peas, are they a good band?

Bay's an idiot for saying nobody knew Megan Fox until she became big with Transformers.

Megan Fox also played the "mean bitch" in that flick with Lindsay Lohan "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" She also appeared on the sitcom "Two and a Half Men". Small roles, not much to shake a stick at, BUT it still makes her known in the acting world before she landed her Transformers role.

But yeah, I agree, she could show a bit more gratitude... so what if Bay just blows shit up. It makes money. Money that'll help Megan buy all her pretty little dresses and other fancy crap. 'Nuff said.

It's kind of hard to enjoy a movie when 99% of you unanimously decided you WERENT going to enjoy it because of the name "Bay". Some friends and I were making fun of a guy leaving the theater who reminded me of these articles who obviously neglected to enjoy the great parts of this movie in favor of focusing all energy on finding reasons to NOT like this movie.

Yeah its great to have an opinion and I respect it, but how do you enjoy a movie that you've already deemed to be terrible? To be honest I hated most of the same things you hated, but my head isn't so far up my own ass that I'm going to neglect to enjoy seeing the biggest thing from my childhood come to life.

I hope just to spite most of the guys I've explained above, Bay hires Tom Hanks and a complete Academy Award winning ensemble cast so that Transformers 3 can try to rake in the Oscars. I mean, you guys are bitching about acting and shitty fillers, this will solve it and based on what YOU guys have said, will make this movie completely awesome.

Yep!

RyanTcone i didn't go in expecting to hate it at all, i loved the first one! And i didn't even hate 2, i just hated the bits i mentioned above. The fight scenes were amazing. As for "finding" reasons not to like it, well i don't know about anyone else, but i didn't have to look very hard! It wasn't like all the crappy bits were bubbling under the surface in a sub plot or something!
