I understand why Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland only make ten episodes of Rick and Morty a season, but I would love to have more.  The Rick and Morty comic series has provided a nice way to fill the void in between seasons of the show.  We have the main series, the Lil’ Poopy Superstar spin-off series, and recently the Pocket Like You Stole It series.  A five-issue run inspired by the Pocket Mortys game.

The main Rick and Morty comic series has had its ups and downs.  The comedy in the show doesn’t always translate well to the comics.  Justin Roiland’s performances as the main characters is one of my favorite parts of the show, his delivery can make a even mundane line into a hilarious one.

This month saw the end of the Pocket Like You Stole It spin-off series.  In this final issue, we get to see Morty infiltrating the Council of Rick's headquarters in attempt to free the captured Mortys.  The motto of “Rick Level Intellect” is repeated throughout the issue, helping our protagonist find the confidence to free the captured Mortys.  The issue proved to be a good conclusion to the series that at times felt to be a little meandering.

One of my favorite things within this issue was the “Musclebot”, a robot who speaks almost completely with famous action lines. Definitely a character I hope to see more of in the future.

Overall, I found this series to adequate.  I didn’t particularly love any of the issues, but there were no glaring missteps or problems, making the series a nice read for fans of the television show.
