RICK AND MORTY Season 4, Part 2 Trailer Reveals The Show's Premiere Date...And Snowball's Return!

Rick and Morty returned last year with five brand new episodes, and Adult Swim has now released a trailer for the next five instalments along with the critically acclaimed animated show's return date...

Rick and Morty has always been a show that's required patience due to its slow production schedule, but after Adult Swim ordered 70 new episodes of the series, fans have plenty to look forward to. The current season consists of ten episodes, and after we got five of them last year, it's now been confirmed that the rest will air from May 3rd.

There are a lot of cool moments in this sneak peek, including the surprise return of Snowball, a fan-favourite character from the first season of the hit TV series.

We also see lightsabers, facehuggers, mechs, and plenty of pop culture references, all of which fans of Rick and Morty should definitely appreciate. Oh, and don't start fretting that this is some sort of elaborate April Fool's Day prank, as the trailer was actually released in the closing few minutes of March 31st (perhaps the longest month of all-time).

There was a two and a half year wait for season four, so we have no idea how long the wait for season five will be. After Adult Swim gave the green light to those 70 episodes, the hope is that Rick and Morty will be released on a more regular basis. With that in mind, we're hoping we see the next batch either at the end of the year or in early 2021.

What we do know is that COVID-19 is almost certainly going to delay the animated series. In the meantime, you can check out this trailer in the player below...

Hopefully this isn't as disappointing as the first half. The heist episode was fun, but the rest just didn't really offer really anything interesting in my opinion

@MalseMarcel - The snakes were fun as well! I also think (/hope) that there will be some pay off to that cat

@MalseMarcel - I'm the complete opposite. I disliked the heist episode (they overused the same jokes too much), but found all the other episodes at least enjoyable.

@MalseMarcel - I agree, aside from the heist episode, everything else was just random adventures with no rhyme of reason. There was a little something with the toilet seat episode, but the dragon episode was biggest offender, almost as bad as vindocators

@Bokis - doubt it

Can we speculate on the evil Morty theories? Just wondering if people still think he is our Rick's original Morty? Makes sense because Rick was gone for 20 years yet there were pictures in Birdpersons house of Rick holding a baby Morty. Morty is only 14... how could Rick be holding a baby Morty if he was gonna for 20 years? Because that's evil Morty! And he's back for revenge... I hope they go somewhere with this soon....

@Makiveli21 - Also, in the episode that introduced Evil Morty, when Rick's mind is being scanned the evil Rick makes a huge deal about how Ricks don't really care about Morties. Evil Morty's motivation to start framing Rick C-137 was also never really explained, personal vendetta could be it.

@Makiveli21 - I think it's the strongest theory, our Rick also seems more evil than other Rick's.

@Makiveli21 -
Fairly sure the creators intend for Evil Morty to be a joke - e.g. he'll be killed off unceremoniously after tons of build-up to emphasize how much the main Morty does not care.

@Odin - exactly! And in that same scene our Rick has a baby Morty in his memories. But he's been missing for 20 years and Morty is only 14. Who was that baby Morty?

@Makiveli21 - Ooh, I like this theory and haven't heard it yet.

Thanks for sharing. I think you're on to something here...

@L0RDbuckethead - I know you've heard it, that's why I opened with "speculate on the evil morty theories" as in- we know there are theories out there. I just wanted to see if anybody had anything that I hadn't seen yet. Would you rather talk about the corona virus? Or are we allowed to try to drum up some conversation about something else?

@L0RDbuckethead - you know what you're right, let's have all conversation revolve around everything getting canceled. That will be so fun for the next few months. Let's do that instead.

@8thDoctor - It looks like they might be planning to release half a season every 6 months, similar to how South Park used to do it. I would be fine with that.

@BloopBlorp2 - so if we do the math, Rick and Morty might to continue for atlesst 6 more years (that is of they don't renew it again). Hopefully it doesnt become another Simpsons or SpongeBob.

@JustALurker - I still stick with the Simpsons. Yeah it's not as good as it once was and I do prefer the older seasons but I still enjoy watching it from time to time.

@BloopBlorp2 - I hope to Rassilon it is a 5 episode drop every 6 months like you say. Because I'm just getting Steven Universe/Adventure Time/Regular Show vibes from this. Those shows just dropped a random # of episodes with no apparent rhyme or reason as to the time frame, in the later years it was released by story arc over a week. I don't want this to turn into that shit show release schedule.
