Robert Kirkman - the Invincible series creator, has recently done an interview talking with Polygon (full Interview here), about what fans should expect to happen in season two.

It was during this interview where he was asked his overall goals for the series as a whole, to which he answered by disclosing the planned number of seasons he wishes to develop for the show moving forward.

Polygon: What’s your ideal big picture, ultimately, for this series? Do you have a sense at this point, based on the pacing you’re going at, how many seasons you’d need to do the whole comic, or at least tell the story you want to tell?

Robert Kirkman: I’m trying not to pin it down to a number, because it is somewhat of a moving target. I think in the seven-to-eight-season range seems like it would be enough. But there could be some things we move through a little faster, some things we expand. If we’re fortunate enough to go for a good long time, I think that would be enough to cover the entire comic. And there are some things along the way that didn’t get into the comic that I’d like to do. I think it’d be cool to have some episodes here and there that are completely original. So that’s part of the plan moving forward.

Of course there is still a lot more story about the Invincible mythos to tell, for continuing the series at an extensive rate would give the show proper time to dive into a number of those tales.

Part 1 of Invincible season 2 will debut on Prime Video on Nov. 3, with part 2 coming in early 2024.

Invincible is an adult animated superhero television series created by Robert Kirkman for Amazon Prime Video and premiered on March 25, 2021. Based on the Image Comics series of the same name by Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, the show follows 17-year-old Mark Grayson and his transformation into a superhero under the guidance of his father Omni-Man, the most powerful superhero on the planet. During his transformation, Mark finds himself struggling between his personal life and superhero duties, where he will be forced to prove that he can be the hero that his father is.

The series stars Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, and J. K. Simmons as the Grayson family, while the rest of the cast serve as recurring characters.

7 to 8 seasons sounds promising! I hope they are able to complete it. Looking forward to when season 2 begins!

Based on season 1 and the bonus Atom Eve episode, I am all for more of this. Haven’t read the comic, although I may pick up the Omnibus and start reading it. Stuff like this and The Boys is far better cape shit than DC and Marvel have been putting out lately.

I remember when seasons were longer than 8 episodes.

It already takes like 2 years to just do 1 season...20 years from now, will Invincible still be popular?

@EnergyVamp - I was just going to say this, unless if they plan on producing multiple seasons at once, this'll take at least a decade

They need to drop Amber Bennett or at least minimize her role going forward. If they do plan to make this a long-running series then they need to be more consistent with series releases, a season (even split) every two years won't cut it and realistically the split has likely occurred because they ran out of time knowing some episodes would not be done for the original intended release.

I'll be twice as old by the time the last season rolls around. Guess I atleast have something to look forward then I suppose.

Also, to future me who's finally watching this after looking forward to it for so long: that didn't take so long right?
