Faith; 1. Complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
            2. Strong belief in god or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.

"Thank you for today, please for tomorrow".

First off I would like to thank you for giving my mission statement a look. It is very important you understand that I am not trying to start a new religion, pass judgment on any religion, or make a farce of religion. Growing up I was not taught very much when it comes to morals and ethics. My parents themselves were not taught the true meaning of morals and ethics. I truly had to try to figure it out by myself. I made some not so good choices and had to pay for them. At this time I began to read comics, and loved getting away from my reality, also enjoyed learning life is not black and white. It was not until I read Watchmen when comics became more than an escape. From that book I learned it is very easy to become a part of the problem, and it is very hard to become a part of the solution, but greatness is never easy. I have never been big on religion, not to say I think religion is bad. I respect all religions and believe religion is very important for the world, if people find strength and guidance in it how can it be bad or wrong. I also believe in evolution, facts are facts. I am more of a spiritual person, if you cannot not acknowledge there is something bigger and greater than you are than my friend it is time to truly open your eyes. My definition of faith has always been, the strong belief of something that may truly never exist. With that definition or philosophy of faith, I have found a new place to put my faith in, comics and comic book characters. I, as I am sure many of you do, see comics for more than just entertainment and art. Comics live and breath life lessons into every arc. II have found a lot of strength, wisdom, and guidance through comics and comic book characters. I began doing this daily in my life, and have found myself, I have found peace. When I am feeling lost, or I am simply in a negative state, I find the answers in comics and comic book characters. With this new perspective on life, I want to help others who may be lost or in need of strength. I am going to use comic mythology and legend  to help others as it has helped me. This Sunday I will be posting my first sermon so to speak. I look forward to your feedback and hope you will check out more Deacon Askani articles. Also please no copy cat stuff, Comic Book Preacher has been taken. I am sure a lot of people have had this idea, but i taking the time to do actually do it. Basically I am asking everyone to be honorable, and with that i leave you with this.

"Open your eyes, and you will find beauty. Open your mind, and you find freedom. Open your heart, and you will find love. Open your soul, and you will find peace".
