I bet you thought that was blood on Rick's face in the teaser image, right? Nope, it's cake as you can see on one of three bizarre new Entertainment Weekly covers celebrating the show's upcoming season eight premiere/100th episode. Also below is a tense new promo which sets the stage for the "All Out War" which is about to take place between Negan's Saviors and the communities led by Rick Grimes.

"I think that last season was very painful for everybody," Andrew Lincoln says, promising a back to basics approach for the show when it returns. "And now you get a certain sense of a reclaiming of the old show and the swagger." Melissa McBride concurs, adding: "This is like back in the old days. This is what I was yearning for last year." It's also something fans want after all that doom and gloom!

Are you guys looking forward to the return of The Walking Dead? What do you hope to see from the series moving forward? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

I see no ending in sight storywise. Where tf is this headed?
They face a bad guy, they defeat him, their place is destroyed, and they find a new shelter. That has been the plot for every season basically.

Shiva is very good animated for a tv show, he is better animated than the giants in Jack the Giant Slayer

I straight up love TWD. Even the slower episodes...I haven't missed one yet & am too committed to not be excited for S8! I give about 50% of a crap about FTWD but still watch.

Don't worry, they're probably gonna end the show this season since a bunch of people, including Robert Kirkman, are suing AMC.
