With last week's revelation that Lori is pregnant, many fans are clamoring for similar progression along some of the other plotlines of Season 2 of The Walking Dead. Robert Kirkman, comic creator and Executive Producer of The Walking Dead reveals to TV Guide what's in store for the remaining episodes to come in Season 2 of The Walking Dead.

The big question is whether the baby is Rick's or Shane's. How is that going to affect the dynamic among the three of them in particular?
Kirkman: This is going to be a catalyst for Shane. Once he finds out about this, assuming he does find out about this, he's going to react pretty strongly to this. His whole reason for worrying about Lori and Carl (Chandler Riggs) is that they've become a surrogate family for them. If he believes this baby is going to be his, that's just going to solidify his state with this family. It's definitely going to throw a wrench in the whole love triangle thing that's going on.

Is Lori's pregnancy what Jenner had whispered to Rick at the CDC in the Season 1 finale?
Kirkman: [Laughs] I can't say. That remains to be seen. All I can say is that it'll definitely be revealed this season. We're getting close to the midpoint of the season, so the likelihood of it being in the first half is looking pretty slim.

The survivors and the Greene family seem to be heading toward conflict. What can you tell us about what's ahead for them?
Kirkman: It's interesting to take note that if this show was told from the perspective of the Greene family, then Rick and all of survivors would pretty much be the villains ... Hershel (Scott Wilson), Otis (Pruitt Taylor Vince), Patricia (Jane McNeill) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) were having a pretty OK time on the farm, and then this group came and Otis was killed and now there's this powder keg of crazy people living on the farm. Of course this is going to lead to conflict. We've now seen that Hershel is saying they're going to have to get off his farm once Carl is better, and now that we know Lori is pregnant, and Hershel is really the only guy who has any kind of medical expertise, they've definitely got a lot of incentive to forcibly stay on that farm. Things will get pretty interesting soon.

Based on the promos for next week, Merle is finally returning. What can you tell us of what he's been up to?
Kirkman: All I can really say about Merle's return is that it occurred to us in the writing of bringing Merle back that we never even saw Daryl Dixon and Merle Dixon interact in the first season. They were never in a scene together. Getting to see Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker actually interacting and playing off each other is going to be an enormous treat for the audience and it's something we've been dying to get to.

As long as this show stays on the air long enough for all the good, crazy shit that happened in the comics to happen on screen.

They've all been pretty dissapointing. The best part of the books were that you were so emotionally invested in each character that it cut you deep when they died. I can honestly say that besides Daryl, Rick, Dale, Maggie and Glenn, I would be happy about the death of any character. The show just isnt getting me emotionally invested

I think merle is just going to be a vision to Daryl, in the next week preview it showed Daryl falling off of the horse and smacking his head. I am betting he just sees his brother and his brother is going to be a real prick to him.

@CaptainDusty. I dont think they will ever get as into the comics as we would like. By this time in the comics most of the main characters where dead and they had introduced other main characters, who they would later kill. The average tv watching fan would probably would not be a fan if so many characters they cared for died so quickly.

Things are starting to get interesting this season. I'm looking forward for the return of Merle Dixon. I bet he is going to be pissed at the survivors. I agree with nailbiter111. The last episode was a little slow and boring. I really hope that season two isn't based off trying to find the little girl. Hopefully, we will find out the outcome with the next episode or so.

Kirkman kill Shane already. Not for the satisfaction, or that it should've been done last season, but from what they learn that is important to the epidemic as a result of him dying. The part was written into the show, and it just f'ing passed by. Stop dragging things out and compromising for $. If he is still around when they get to the prison then you are a clown. If you even try to let them make Merle the Gov. out of narrative convenience you can suck a zombie's balls.

How can you guys say it was bad? Ricks finally given his hat to Carl, Maggie and Glenn are riding the horses and they've been warned to stay away from the barn. Thats all from the comic. That fat zombie was awesome to say they had their budget slashed too. The only bad points are shane is still alive and Otis died too soon. F u cking love this show!

If Merle is actually alive and they do try to make him the Governor it would give him a real good reason for wanting .....Spoilers from comics .... Ricks hand cut off. an eye for an eye type thing. But that shouldnt come until a little while later... I dont know if they would do that though, that would have to cg Ricks hand out of every episode after that.

When is Tyreese and Michonne going to be introduced?

I'd been theorizing that they were saving Merle to become the Governor. I only made that connection really since Merle lost his hand because of Rick, so it'd be a cool twist for the show if that turned out to be who got to chop Rick's. Reading above comments I see I'm not the only one who thought of this. It's a cool idea. I love the show as much as the comics and I love how Kirkman himself is all about changing things up so that us hardcore readers get to still be surprised. I'm starting to think T-dog is what we're getting for Tyrese. We've already passed the point in the comic where he joins the group. I hope it isn't the case but as long as they don't hold Michonne off on us and they keep Andrea alive (my fav character in the comic) then I won't complain much.

My favorite parts from this last episode were Glenn and Maggie hooking up and the allusion to the barn(I second Y motion, make it full o' zombies plz!) I hope the shit doesn't get bloody with Hershels family, that wouldn't be a very good twist from the comic. I was disappointed that more of his children weren't alive and around the farm.

I also think that Merle will only be a hallucination, and that Daryl's going to start going crazy. but Please, can someone explain to me how the last episode was boring? It was great story-wise. why must we ALWAYS have some nonsensical zombie bashing or "bad-ass" action? i personally loved the episode. Daryl's interaction with Carol was a great highlight, and i view it as kind of a Last moment of Heart before he starts going off the deep end. I watch episode 6 on http://movieleak.org/

Last week was so boring I am seriously debating whether or not to even watch this week. I guess it isn't fair to give up on it because of one bad episode. Some of the characters are so annoying though. Can't stand Lori. I wish they'd kill her off. Andrea is getting on my nerves too. They also are dragging story lines out too long.
