THE WALKING DEAD: Get Your Sh*tting Pants On For The Mind-Blowing Season 8 Trailer

As is always the case, AMC has released a trailer for The Walking Dead season eight and it's packed full of awesome hints about what's to come when the show returns in October. We kick things off with a very tense exchange between Negan and Father Gabriel and then move on to hints of the war that's to come when Rick Grimes leads the communities into battle against the villain's sinister group of Saviors

However, it's in the trailer's closing moments that things take a really unexpected turn. We're suddenly transported to a very clean looking hospital room where a
beared Rick wakes up looking significantly older. Is this a dream sequence, a glimpse ahead to the future, or the reveal that it's all just been a coma induced hallucination? I'm betting on a fantasy but you never know with The Walking Dead!

What do you guys think of this first look at season eight? Share your thoughts in the usual place.

Good they don't drag the war so much, seems like we gonna skip those 4 or 5 years at the end of the mid season finale

@NoMeaning45 -

No problem :)

It's silly of them to limit viewership anyway, all it does is reduce the range of people they could possibly encourage to watch the show.

I predict 4 great episodes, 4 OK episodes and 8 filler episodes. Still gonna watch though lol

Geez, if this all just ends up being in Rick's head, i don't know how i would feel about that.

@TheBeard -

The old Rick is almost certainly going to be 'in Rick's head'

Chances are he will lose his hand though - or be injured to the point he hallucinates the old Rick stuff.

@TheBeard - I was having this discussion with a friend the other day, and we came up with an interesting Theory. What if Rick is indeed still in a coma. However, the final episode would end with Shane and Rick's wife living a life together with an older Carl, standing by Ricks bedside getting ready to pull the plug on his life support...

and once the heart monitor flatlined, Rick would turn into a walker. thus becoming patient zero in the ACTUAL zombie apocalypse. Cue credits.

@xfan320 - The comic has been dropping hints that it will end with Rick reforming the US on the Eastern seaboard and building an army led by Negan to wipe out the last hordes of the weakening zombies. They've already found a way to prevent new deaths from returning.

@xfan320 - Some fans would totaly hate that...but some would probably love that..what a twist that would be...I liked that theory though.!

@rabid - well that seems like a fairly tame way to handle the zombie apocalypse with just a slow "phase-out" of the threat. I'm sure there's more to it than that, but I would prefer the show to get a little more 'out there' with some of it's storylines

I CAN'T WAIT! I LOVED season 7 overall. I guess I better get caught up on the few issues I've missed so that I can compare :)
