Ben McKenzie Suffers Nasty Head Injury On The Set Of BATMAN Prequel GOTHAM

With no Batman to watch his back, Ben McKenzie's Jim Gordon suffered a nasty looking head injury on the set of upcoming Fox series Gotham when a fight scene got a little too real! He's ok thankfully, but hit the jump for details and some pretty bloody photos posted to Instagram by the actor...

Ben McKenzie will take on the role of a young James Gordon in Gotham, the series which focuses on Gotham City in the years leading up to Bruce Wayne's transformation into the Caped Crusader. We already know that the series will have plenty of action despite the lack of any costumed heroes or villains, and the actor who plays the future Commissioner proved that today when he took to Instagram to reveal a pretty nasty looking head injury sustained while filming. "Fight sequence gone awry," McKenzie captioned one of the photos below before adding "Don't ram your head into concrete pillars, kids. #gotham" and "Holy concrete wall, Batman!" However, he won't be taking much in the way of time off as he plans to head back to work on Monday to continue the series which was recently named as the most promising of the Fall season by the Television Critics Association. Are you guys looking forward to the upcoming debut of Fox's Gotham?

If I were injured during a fight scene while filming, I'd keep going to add authenticity. As long as it's sanitary.

I broke my head once.
It isn't that bad.

A mustache would have prevented this.

Glad he's okay and all, but it'll be pretty cool if they incorporate that injury into the role. No need to hide it in makeup or anything...show off Gordon with a nasty-looking, authentic war-wound!

@Dingbat, I'm so glad you posted that now as opposed to a few days ago. I'm watching the show for the very first time right now and I JUST finished watching that episode. Like literally, I just watched the first episode of season 5 yesterday. Great timing =P

Why is the scar on the right side of his head in the first two pics and on the left side in the third? I'm confused....

The third one must be mirrored.

@Dingbat, Haha Ted was one of the few male characters on the show who still had his hair...obviously it had to go! Seriously though, no exaggeration whatsoever, Breaking Bad is easily the best show I've ever watched. I'm constantly kicking myself that it's taken me this long to finally get into it haha. Just a phenomenal show, and I'm slightly depressed that the 5th season is the last one...

I watched all 5 seasons of BB over one long weekend and maybe one extra day (over the holidays) I could not stop watching once I started, I enjoyed the binge watch, felt more emotionally involved with the plight of all the characters...right, amazing [frick]ing show! Gotta watch it all again sometime...

@Dingbat LOL exactly.

@batz11 Geez, I can't even imagine binge-watching ALL the seasons in such a short amount of time! Like, I've been going at my own leisurely pace (1 or 2 episodes a day) and the stress is taking years off my lifespan haha. How did you manage to pack all of that into a single weekend or so??

I needed a lot of meth...ok, that was lame...I sleep about 4-5 hrs a night as it is, so just sat and vegged out all day and night, my kids were out of town haha, was amazingly satisfying seeing how the seasons/characters progressed or digressed ;) watching in that short amt. of time...I already follow a lot of tv series, add the comic related ones recently, just "missed out" on BB, so glad I caught it though, crazy great show!

NICE! I know it's almost a whole [frick]ing year away but that made me much more excited.
