Former NIKITA Star Melinda Clarke Set To Recur On GOTHAM

If you were a fan of The O.C., you should like this news as a mini-reunion is happening relatively soon. A new report has revealed that Ben McKenzie's former O.C. co-star Melinda Clarke has signed up for a recurring gig on his hit Fox show Gotham. Come check it out!

E! Online learned yesterday that Fox's Gotham has added Melinda Clarke in a recurring role as Grace Van Dahl, an original character. Clarke will make her debut in episode 15, which is a few weeks after the show returns from its winter hiatus. Her character is being described as "attractive and cultured", but also as someone who is "desperate for money and power. While she's adept at playing the perfect hostess and wife, all the while she's plotting how she can lie and cheat—and even kill!—to get what she wants." Based on some of Clarke's past credits, this new role should fit right in her wheelhouse.

Signing up for Gotham reunites Clarke with her former The O.C. co-star Ben McKenzie and also makes her the first one of McKenzie's former co-stars to make an appearance on his hit Fox drama.

In addition to The O.C., Clarke most recently had a starring role on The CW's Nikita, playing Amanda and going head-to-head with Maggie Q & Lyndsy Fonseca. She's also made appearances on several television series, including, but not limited to, Chuck, Entourage, & The Vampire Diaries.

So, what do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!

The stakes are higher than ever as Gotham explores the origin stories of some of the most ambitious and depraved Super Villains, including The Riddler, The Joker and Mr. Freeze, and Bruce Wayne uncovers more secrets from his father’s past.

I'm glad they are still using original villains. The series needs to take it easy with all of the A-list Batman villains, or they are going to run out of them really quickly. Batman also has an entire library of lesser known villains that need the spotlight as well.

We're only at Season 2 and we've already gotten Joker (sort of), Riddler, Catwoman, Penguin, Poison Ivy, Two Face, the Falcones and Maronis, Firefly, Scarecrow, and Zsasz. We are also about to get Calendar Man, Clayface, Mr. Freeze, Mad Hatter and Hugo Strange all in the second half of Season 2.

The series should start making smarter decisions with who they use immediately and who they save for later (for example, instead of immediately jumping to Calendar Man, they could've started with the Holiday Killer; this is a prequel after all).

She's gorgeous and a fine actress; I always thought she would've made a great Mary Jane Watson when she was in her twenties. There was always a striking resemblance to the comic book version, especially John Romita Sr.'s rendering of MJ.
