GOTHAM: New Behind The Scenes Still Reveal A Terrifying Look At Cameron Monaghan's Twisted Joker

Some newly revealed behind the scenes photos from Gotham offer a fresh look at Cameron Monaghan's hideously scarred and terrifying take on the Clown Prince of Crime. Check them out after the jump...

Gotham ended on FOX last year, and while it was often divisive, it also had a sizeable fanbase. During its final season, Cameron Monaghan stole the show as Joker, and while his origins were undeniably convoluted and a little silly, there was no faulting the actor's twisted and terrifying performance.

Now, some new behind the scenes photos have been revealed showing just how messed up Monaghan's Clown Prince of Crime was. In terms of appearance, he could give Joaquin Phoenix's take a run for its money, and this Joker is arguably more comic accurate from a purely visual perspective.

There are no plans for a Gotham follow-up of any sort, but a prequel series loosely connected to the show can be found in Pennyworth, a show which focuses on Alfred and Thomas Wayne's early years. It's a fun show, and one which should definitely make fans of the FOX drama happy.

Love Gotham and always fun to see it brought up, but this doesnt seem to be anything really new, maybe a few new angles at the most

In 5 or 10 years would be great to see the cast reunite

I can't believe, from all fases of this Joker and performances of Cameron Monaghan, it ended up with this silly bald and burned old man. Shame.

Wasn't a fan of Gotham but Monaghan was a good Joker.

I actually didn't really mind the more deformed and scarred look. It added more layers to why the Joker would consider it more comical to his already unhinged personality. It's too bad that in the finale, we didn't get a proper chance to see an adult Bruce Wayne since we got to see him as Batman(of sorts) battle the Joker. The actual guy looked like Bruce too.

I know that they wanted to use Mazouz as Batman to the end, but adding the face on the Batman cowl was always bizarre to me.

@TheLight - yeah would have been nice to see more of Batman, although not sure the batsuit they had would work for an extended amount of time. Not their fault there though, Warner Brothers wouldn't give them the Batman Begins suit

I actually like this design, its different. Kinda like "ok, this is what would happen to a man in acid" which simultaneously comic booky.

I know some people were disappointed he wasn't "full joker", but he was unique, he sticks in your heard, and honestly might be the most terrifying appearance the joker has had
