GOTHAM Season 2, Episode 18 Promo; "Pinewood"

Gotham has become a very different show to the one that launched in Fall 2014, and depending on how much you liked those earlier episodes, that's either a good or bad thing. Either way, next week's instalment will bring an awful lot to the table as a number of big name villains make their presence felt and Bruce Wayne takes another step closer to solving the mystery behind the murder of his parents.

After leaving Arkham Asylum, Barbara attempts to make amends with Gordon. Then, Bruce and Alfred track down one of Thomas Wayne's former friends from Project Chimera, but Hugo Strange disrupts their plans in the all-new 'Wrath of the Villains: Pinewood' episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, April 18th on FOX.

One of the best episodes yet. Riddler stole the show (esp. when he revealed himself to Gordon in his apartment), Penguin made his triumphant comeback, the show didn't rush Gordon back into his GCPD job again, and even BD Wong (who was barely in the episode) continues to give a cold, menacing performance as Hugo Strange. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.

@Darkknight2149 - "I knew, that you knew, that I knew." ZAP

A few more episodes like this and he'll be the best live action Riddler.

The only downside is that Barbara Kean is back to her old ways. I really didn't like her character in Season 1.

@Daddy - I like it. He seems like a traumatized child masquerading as an adult.

Barbara will go crazy again and it would be unexpected and weird if Gordon ended up being the Joker in a few years after everything he'd seen with Barbara as his Harley Quinn. Bruce would have to go up against the man who helped raise him like a big brother. Also, can't wait to see better Mr. Freeze suit, gun, and the birth of Azrael next week.

Every time I get close to dumping this show, an episode like tonight comes along.

Great show. Always was. Didn't see tonight's episode cause I was watching Supergirl. Like to watch Gotham later on Hulu..no commercials!

This, I think, explains BvS's problems. One example:

"For us, the trickiest section was the beginning of the film, until the point where Bruce Wayne tells Alfred the truth about what is on the “White Portugese” ship… the truth about his plan. This moment set into motion everything until the end of the film really. Until that point the movie was always tracking many solo paths, some intersecting, some not. Finally in this scene, the paths fork into one road. In the script there are more subplots than you see in the movie right now. Also in terms of building this beginning we had to move things around. In the script, Lex was introduced much later, but we found that in watching the movie – because he’s such an important player, it was best to set him up sooner."

I'd love to read the actual 4-hour script to see how it was meant to play out.
