GOTHAM's Bruce Wayne And Penguin Actors Celebrate The Completion Of Filming For Season 4

Season 4 of Gotham has now officially wrapped filming, as confirmed earlier today in an emotional post by the show's own Bruce Wayne, David Mazouz, who celebrated with Penguin actor, Robin Lord Taylor...

Season 4 of Gotham has offically wrapped filming!

Earlier today, David Mazouz, who plays Bruce Wayne, posted a very emotional and heartfelt message on Instagram that featured an image of himself horsing around with his co-star Robin Lord Taylor, who plays the Penguin. Both actors, who play characters that have a history of internal conflict, were jokingly studying a book on psychology.

Bidding farewell to his fans and co-stars on the show, the young actor expressed how eternally grateful he is for the series and the impact it has had on him. Mazouz shared the pride he has in the show and all that they have accomplished and shown to the fans over the years.

Read David Mazouz's emotional post below:

Scoffing at psychology because penguin and Bruce don’t play by those rules That’s a wrap on season 4 In some ways these 4 years feel like they should be 10 and in others it feels like the experience has taken 2 weeks. All I know is I am so crazy proud of what we have done on #Gotham. I am so happy I was blessed enough to be apart of this large super villain/hero family. This show has seen me through my most formative years yet- my adolescence thus far - and has shaped a (Bat) man so incredibly overjoyed with his past but also vigilantly ready for what is to come. Thank you everyone who has contributed to this project and experience, transforming my life in this beyond positive way. And whether or not this is the end of Gotham’s road, I love you all and these characters and what they represent will live forever (on Netflix and Hulu) and in our minds and hearts ( I know that was cheesy but it is true)

Perhaps the most important takeaway from his comments comes in the final sentence: "And whether or not this is the end of Gotham's road, I love you all and these characters and what they represent will live forever..."

This sentence almost makes his message seem like an epitaph of sorts, with the actor issuing a precautionary goodbye to the show in case this final day of filming ends up being his last as the young caped crusader.

Recently, the chairman of FOX spoke positively and optimistically about the prospects of a fifth season for Gotham. However, if Mazouz's comments are any indication, the future of the show may be less certain than we'd been led to believe.

@Kevwebsz - He is so amazing, one of the best parts of this season has been seeing his re-transformation as the Riddler. He, along with these next three, are my favorite characters on the show:

They should really try to bring in a young Clark Kent for a few episodes next season, it might get a ratings boost. He could be helping Bruce with something, and use his powers in secret. It could be a world’s finest episode.

@superbigguy32 - Yeah, I'd be down for that.

@superbigguy32 - Not sure Clark Kent could work in Gotham's tone and style

@dracula - Anything could work, with the right actors and writers.

Since they have about 10 more years before Bruce becomes Batman and ALL the villains are there in full form (except Joker) NOW I expect Gotham to be a barren destroyed wasteland by the time he shows up.

It'd be a shame it if ends this shows been getting better every season

@SupermansTrunks - Yeah how many shows actually get better every year. Its for that reason though that I hope Gotham only goes on for 1 or 2 more seasons. Look at Smallville, it had its up and downs, but it did not need 10 seasons, and the finale was a major disappointment, now Gotham is way better than Smallville, but I would still rather it end sooner than later, that way the they don't loose the original showrunner and have a satisfying finale, and if it goes on until David is in his 20's, it will probably be going down hill by then. They don't need to end it with Bruce becoming Batman, and Selina becoming Catwoman, they just need to end it in a way that makes it clear that they are on that road

Hey if this is the last season then give Jessica Lucas more screentime! (sure we can all agree on that). Also I love Nygma, easily one of the best parts of the show.

I'd be very disappointed if this show ended with 4 seasons, but I can't say I'd be surprised. We barely scrapped off a 4th season, so I'm just expecting the worst at this point.

Gotham has told one heck of a story. Yeah, there have been missteps, but I'm glad I was along for the journey.

@KWilly - I want it to go on for 1 or 2 more seasons at the most, but as long as they have something that can work as a proper finale, im ok with it, as long as it doesnt end up like Smallville, with a boring, disapointing finale, I love Gotham, its my favorite DC show, but I do not want it going on for 10 seasons

@WhiteWallyWest1 - how long has it been since you've seen it? Know that is has only gotten better each season, it really figured out what it wants to be, it knows what it is and embraces the insanity.

I think they’re waiting to see how the ratings look after Jerome/Joker’s episodes and story arc.

This season has been great! AoS as well. Been loving both of those shows this season.

The big problem is that this latest season has been a major drop in quality from what came before it. Seasons one and two were outstanding, while season three was ok, but season four has just been all over the place. It also doesn't help that they've been concentrating on some really uninspired villains (Professor Pyg, Sophia Falcone, Poison Ivy), while waiting far too long to introduce the actual Joker. If it does end with this season, it just might be for the best. However, it would suck if they introduce the real Joker at the very end of the season, have it be as amazing as Mazouz has claimed, and then have the show get canceled. Really hoping that they can turn things around with these last seven episodes.
