While we know the Court Of Owls will be making their presence felt during the upcoming third season of Gotham, it seems there is an even bigger development on the horizon. During an interview with TV Line at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, Ben McKenzie revealed that his version of Jim Gordon might be undergoing a drastic change.

"Yours truly might become another iconic DC character," McKenzie said cryptically when asked about new information. "... in the middle of the season. At the end of the season. He might take on the persona of a different character. That's an exclusive!" McKenzie exclaimed following a shocked reaction from the interviewer and his castmates. "And I might have just gone too far..."

Gordon famously donned the mantle of Batman in a recent run by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. While McKenzie's comments do nothing to indicate that Gordon will become a version of Batman in the show, it isn't entirely out of the question, given Gotham's propensity to alter the source material drastically. Could we possibly see Gordon become the figure that inspires the young Bruce Wayne into action? Only time will tell. Sound off with your thoughts below!

I highly doubt he takes on the cowl as Bats, what in his life would've led him to adopt anything Bat-based? they will however continue the redemption of Barbara, and Leigh is gonna have to die for Jim to want to stick it in crazy again...

I say go for it. We accept multiverse in comics, where we can see famous alterations of famous characters. Why not in tv shows?

Season 2 took some risks, but they actually worked for the most part.

But that's the thing about risks, take too many, and eventually it will cost you....

It won't be Batman! He'll probably wear the Azrael costume for a bit or something like that...

Definitely NOT Batman.

He's gonna become some obscure vigilante like Night Scourge from Batman: Prey.
