I consider this a guilty pleasure show. Depending upon how long it lasts we could literally see Bruce Wayne grow up before our very eyes. Which despite the shows flaws is pretty exciting.

I can't believe some people still don't realize what this series is about and what it's doing. Some people are "comic book blind". Some are just plain blind. The show isn't going anywhere, so I say too bad for you, and more for us...the ones who actually, get it!

@Foolsgoldfinger - People don't hate Gotham because they don't "get it," they just don't like it. Too each there own.

@DR3D - To each their own? Absolutely. But, do you know my reasoning is untrue for everyone? Nah. Too many people seem puzzled by the show. Puzzlement is more often a result of misunderstanding.

Watched the first five episodes of the first season, and honestly it's not a bad show. Good casting for the Penguin. McKenzie and Donal Logue are alright. Even got over the fact that Batman's villains are all much older than him. I accepted it as a detective drama rather than a adaption of the Batman comics. BUT then I see these promos for 'Gotham' season two, "Gotham City Stories" which is a live comic strip, and "Wrath of the Villains" which make it seem like they are promoting the show as a heavily comic book influenced show, which it is NOT. And now I'm seeing a "comic booky" costume for Mr. Freeze, 'Azrael' and now a Hugo Strange.
Either fully embrace the source material or be your own thing like Season 1, this show has an identity issue.
