PEACEMAKER Season Finale Features One Of The Biggest Cameos In DC TV History - SPOILERS

The season finale of Peacemaker arrived on HBO Max earlier today, and to say the episode contains a jaw-dropping cameo would be a major understatement. Find more details right here!

Today's season finale of Peacemaker was excellent, as Christopher Smith and the group successfully managed to stop the Butterflies. The aliens didn't wind up being connected to any well-known DC Comics villains, but claimed to want to save the Earth by taking on positions of power within society; however, all too aware that they would kill his friends, Peacemaker did what he had to and stopped them.

By the time the season wrapped up, Smith's name had been cleared and he may have even earned some affection from Harcourt. But he's also being haunted by his father's ghost, which is a nod to the comic books where his dad has pushed the character down some dark and dangerous paths.

Earlier in the episode, Adebayo had asked her mom, Amanda Waller, to send in the Justice League, and Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and The Flash do indeed show up... a little too late!

Here's how that exchange plays out:

Peacemaker: You're late, you f***ing d*ck heads! Go f*** another fish, asshole!

Aquaman: I'm so f***ing sick of that rumour.

The Flash: It's not a rumour.

Aquaman: F*** you, Barry.

Jason Momoa and Ezra Miller reprise their respective roles as Arthur Curry and Barry Allen, wearing the costumes from their previous DCEU appearances. Wonder Woman and Superman, meanwhile, are kept in the shadows, but we're assuming they're meant to be Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot's versions!

Task Force X ended up being outed by Adebayo here, too, so season 2 looks set to be very different.

What did you think of the Peacemaker finale?

Still cant believe what I just saw, and massive kudos for Jason Momoa to put on the costume for just that scene.
Miller? go choke another girl, asshole.

"Miller? go [frick] another girl, asshole."

Haha, I think you meant choke.

@TheHumanSpider2 -

That's definitely not a rumor.

The cameos were eh. It's a testament to how little I care about the Justice League and that is due in no small part to WB's handling of them. Normally this would be [frick]ing amazing but it was just whatever.

It's telling that Momoa and Miller did it. They would be game for it. Gadot doesn't seem the type. Not to mention we got Shazam-ed again with Supes. But I guess a body double is better than a floating CGI man.

@BlackBeltJones - Momoa and Miller were also likely filming their respective films at the time. Looked like a Deadpool 2 moment where it just worked out, could see they filmed their moments elsewhere
GhostDog
GhostDog - 2/17/2022, 10:07 AM
@Cap1 - Yea you're probably right about that.

@BlackBeltJones - I wonder why Batman was missing? Was it because they’re making Keaton’s Batman the main canon Batman now?
GhostDog
GhostDog - 2/17/2022, 10:33 AM
@WruceBayne - Gunn was told he couldn't use him. He alluded to not being able to.

@BlackBeltJones - Getting Momoa was a pretty big deal.
Imagine The Avengers appearing in the last episode of Inhumans, including RDJ.

Gadot I guess was shooting something else, and Cavill...about time we start realizing he is gone.
GhostDog
GhostDog - 2/17/2022, 11:44 AM
@TheHumanSpider2 - I don't think Gadot would be game but that could be. Yea Cavill ain't coming back at this point.

Momoa seems like such a chill guy I wasn't surprised at him showing up. He would say yes without question.

@TheHumanSpider2 - Cavill has said in recent interviews that Supe's "cape is still firmly hanging in my closet" and that he hasn't walked away from the role and is actively pursuing story ideas. I think the main reason why he didn't cameo in this and Shazam is because his appearance contract is up with WB. I guess that means that he isn't 'officially' Superman at present, but given the way he's talked about Superman recently, it sounds like he is still the main big screen Superman unless WB decide to go down a completely different path.
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 2/17/2022, 8:24 PM
@bcom - He has no contract because he is...gone.
He keeps saying he wants to play the character again, because he probably wants to play the character again, but Warner never offered him a new contract, and at this point, Henry is too busy to worry that much about making a sequel to a decade old movie that floped at the BO, and half the fans didnt like.
bcom
bcom - 2/17/2022, 8:36 PM
@TheHumanSpider2 - Well, you can't say for certain he is gone because in recent interviews he has said he isn't. Only Henry and WB know for sure what will be. All Henry has said is he is actively pursuing Superman ideas and it's up to WB to make the 'yay' or 'nay' call.
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 2/17/2022, 8:46 PM
@bcom - He will keep saying it until they recast.
For one, he might be obligated to do it, and one the other hand, he more than likely WANTS to play Superman again, but that aint happening.

@TheHumanSpider2 - Again, you can’t say for certain it ain’t happening.

@TheHumanSpider2 - With the multiverse stuff DC is doing it wouldnt be hard to recast supes at this point. Maybe even make Tyler Hoechlin could take over. Flahpoint makes anything possible
Spidey91
Spidey91 - 2/17/2022, 10:05 AM
they actually got Momoa to cameo just to make the "fish f*cking" joke, absolute madlads.
I for one like Momoa's Aquaman and I've been warming up to Miller's Flash so I was glad to see them. on the other hand, Cavill has to be out as Superman at this point, if he won't even cameo in costume is safe to say we're getting another actor at some point.
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 2/17/2022, 11:01 AM
@Spidey91 - Cavill is completely out.
A shame he didnt got to make the cameo in Shazam, because that would've been the perfect send-off.
Dafoe
Dafoe - 2/17/2022, 1:50 PM
@TheHumanSpider2 - Would it though?

The cameo was fun to see, but that aside, what great conclusion to surprisingly some of the best comic book live action content out there. Good job Gunn and team.

Fantastic finale. The dye-beard gag with Economos brought full circle n given some really touching emotional weight was sharp. Tied the series up nicely too, clearly weren't sure of a season 2. Very excited to see where it goes next

for a moment I thought Vigilante was possessed by a butterfly since he got shot then somehow recovered off screen...then he started doing dumb sh*t and I knew it was still him LOL
Fares
Fares - 2/17/2022, 10:12 AM
@Spidey91 - Dude that moment when he gets stabbed from behind and then perfectly throws back the knife as he's falling without looking is the funniest thing.
Like this guy is so juvenile and mentally unstable, but you can be damn sure that he is excellent at what he does.
Spidey91
Spidey91 - 2/17/2022, 10:14 AM
@Fares - for sure, the guy is like if you put Star Lord's childish ass brain into the Punisher's body or something.
IronMandarin
IronMandarin - 2/17/2022, 10:13 AM
WTF! NO WAY!

I can't believe they actually got the Justice League even without Cavill or Gal.

Where's Batman and Cyborg tho?

Thought Superman was wearing the black suit from the Snyder Cut, but you can see the red on his cape.

Flash joking about Aquaman having sex with fish reminded me of this

I like how Aquaman went from being the joke of the Justice League because he's lame and talks to Fish.

To now where he's the joke of the Justice League because of a rumor he has sex with them.
Spidey91
Spidey91 - 2/17/2022, 10:15 AM
@IronMandarin - well, Batman is busy being retconed out and Cyborg is busy waging Twitter wars :p

@IronMandarin - Snyder seeing all his work undone with Aquaman now being the joke of the JL due to fish [frick]ing:

IronMandarin
IronMandarin - 2/17/2022, 10:20 AM
@Spidey91 - @Spidey91 - Batfleck's not retconned out yet though. Flash is still wearing his old suit in this scene which means Flashpoint hasn't happened yet.

The fact that WB didn't even get a body double to stand in for Ray Fisher in this scene is pretty telling though. :P
Spidey91
Spidey91 - 2/17/2022, 10:23 AM
@IronMandarin - to be fair, it's not unlikely for Batman to skip some ground missions, he already did that in the JLU show.
Cyborg though, yeah, I think that ship has been sunk, if not partially then completely.
DalekCraigWasson
DalekCraigWasson - 2/17/2022, 10:29 AM
@IronMandarin - Gunn basically says in the Variety interview DC stopped him from using Batman or Cyborg. Batman, I imagine is because they are doing the whole Affleck into Keaton transition and don't want to muddle it and I don't think they want even the suggestion of Ray Fisher.
