The Suicide Squad director James Gunn recently took to Twitter to announce that Eastbound & Down's Jody Hill is helming an episode of HBO Max's Peacemaker, but Collider has now revealed two more filmmakers working on the spinoff. That means Gunn is only directing five of the eight episodes (it had previously been reported he would be in charge of six).

The other two directors are Brad Anderson and Rosemary Rodriguez, who both have experience working in the world of superheroes after helming episodes of Titans and Jessica Jones, respectively.

Rodriguez is very much a veteran in the world of television and has worked on everything from The Walking Dead to The Good Wife and Dickinson. As for Anderson, he's helmed features like The Call and The Machinist, as well as episodes of The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, and The Sinner.

Very little has been revealed about Peacemaker, meaning we still don't know whether it's set before or after the events of The Suicide Squad. A January 2022 premiere has been confirmed, and it's likely a first look will arrive either shortly after the movie is released next month or during October's DC FanDome event.

Gunn has, however, taken to Twitter to share a production update

Although they're not names that I immediately associate with something, I'm guessing it'll be good since I'm assuming Gunn had a hand in picking them

Maybe it's set DURING the Suicide Squad.

They're really breaking out the big guns for this. I think it's going to surprise a lot of people. (Still hoping for a Danny McBride guest spot.)
