BARRY DECIDES HE NEEDS TO PROTECT THE CITY ON HIS OWN — Picking up months after the Singularity attacked Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) is still struggling to forgive himself for Eddie’s death.  Concerned about putting his friends in danger, Barry has pushed everyone away and has chosen to protect the city on his own.  When a meta-human named Atom Smasher (guest star Adam Copeland) attacks the city, Iris (Candice Patton) tells Barry that he needs to let his friends help him protect the citizens of Central City. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) helps Joe (Jesse L. Martin) with his Meta Task Force. Ralph Hemecker directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Gabrielle Stanton.

@Jollem I'd give your left finger also! I'm really optimistic about DC's universe and how they're going to handle the tv shows, multiple universes, etc.

The first half of the first season was mediocre. Just more CW teeny bopper romance garbage and an irritating comic relief team and wangst and blah....

But that second half was actually pretty damn good. Particularly the various father/son dynamics between Flash, Henry, Joe, Wells, and Sisco. Not even grading on a curve, there were some genuinely well done emotional moments. A lot of the finale was predictable, but overall, a really strong second half and actually made me somewhat hyped about the CWverse (even after I slogged through the Arrow's turd season, I mean Arrow's turd season... I mean Arrow's "first, second, turd...". Nope, I don't know what's wrong with my keyboard. Every time I try to type third between the words "Arrow" and "season", it comes out turd... Weird.)

But yeah... Flash is good.

I actually really like Brandon Routh, and even though they've got him playing discount Robert Downey Jr. being discount Iron Man, I still really like him. I just wish they could have found a better way to use him than what they did in Arrow's turd season.

@Spock0clock

Turd season? Oh no you didn't! That designation was first applied to Star Trek season 3. No one is allowed to use that phrase for another show.

I mean you can never compare awesomely bad Trek with horrible Arrow season 3... No competition. 'Spocks Brain' 'Lights of Zetar' 'That which survives' ... All stuff I'd watch again before arrow 3!

Ezra Miller...isn't he that tranny who won the Eurovision song contest a few years back?

Oh, well.

At least we have The Flash TV series to look forward to...

@comicchicago: No, you have the wrong Green Lantern there. It's Alan Scott who blows. You know, the one with the weakness for wood?

@SecretWarrior

No kidding. On the whole, the Original Series had some good (maybe occasionally great) episodes, but it is an eternal shame that the last episode was a piece of shit like Turnabout Intruder.

"I know, let's write a really dumb story about a crazy woman that brain switches with Kirk just to prove feminism wrong... What do you mean, cancelled?!"

Still... I'd watch TOS season 3 over just about any season of Voyager any day. I mean, just one embarrassment after another on that show...
Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 9/23/2015, 6:34 AM
Actually, maybe not... I don't think I can watch Plato's Stepchildren again... The much celebrated "first interracial kiss on television", but people forget that it was only because telepathic aliens were basically mind raping both Kirk and Uhura...

@Spock0clock

But you know what? Season 3 of trek was campy and fun... It still retained the charm of the show ... I for one like space Lincoln... It was a cool set up. At best, Turnabout was silly. After watching the Trek movie trilogy on BR this week, I can safely say that I like Trek with some light hearted elements alongside the more serious stuff.

And just to keep this thread on topic, they had better not screw up Jay or Atom smasher. JSA is my all time fave super team hands down. I hope they get the respect they deserve for consisting of characters and legacies that have been around for 70 years.

Secretwarriors,totally agree with you on handling Jay Garrick correctly and any other members of the JSA that appear. It would be cool to see the original JSA on The Flash. Then they can use The Green Lantern, the original Alan Scott!
