Could We See The Return Of SPOILER On Tonight's GAME OF THRONES Season Finale?

The two-minute "previously on" video that's set to air at the beginning of the Game Of Thrones season 5 finale later tonight has leaked, and if it's any indication of what'll occur in the episode, we might just be looking at the return of a fan-favourite character we haven't seen since season 1...

You thought it was Ned didn't ya? Unfortunately the honourable Lord Eddard Stark is still sans a head, but his brother might be knocking about. Fans of HBO's Game Of Thrones and the novels it's based on have been wondering what became of Night's Watch First Ranger and Jon Snow's uncle Benjen Stark since he "went below" and out into the frozen wastelands beyond the Wall back in season 1. Some believed Coldhands (a character that has yet to be introduced on the show) from the books would turn out to be Benjen, but George R.R. Martin himself shot down that theory - so what in Seven Hells happened to him? Well, we might just get an answer to that on tonight's season 5 finale.

The below video is reportedly the "previously on" intro to "Mother's Mercy", and as you can see it features an appearance from Ned's bro Benjen. There's also shots of The Mountain, who might just reappear in an even more formidable form after Qyburn's done tinkering with him.

A character popping up in the intro isn't always an indication that they'll actually feature in the episode, but it's a safe bet that Benjen's fate will at least be discussed if not revealed outright. What do you guys think? Excited for the finale? Sound off below.

Not sure Jon will die. At least he didn't die in the books, just got stabbed a bunch by his brothers. But the show has deviated a lot from the books so who knows? Jon's storyline is pretty boring anyway. He might make an entertaining corpse.

Seriously doubt Benjen shows up. He's been running around in the woods for a couple years without a horse. Probably didn't go well for him. I kinda thought Jon would get stabbed in the finale as his storyline has caught up to the books. GRRM is trying to release the next book prior to next season, so when they bring him back it won't be a big shock to the book readers.

Since when was Benjen a fan favorite? I don't quite think the sheer amount of posts on the forums dedicated to what happened to him and to why he joined the Night's Watch after Ned's return translate to a beloved character. Certainly likeable.

If they make some spoiler about his eventual fate that is the same as in the books and will be in TWoW, D&D are outright [foo foo]s, made even more unnecessary given that fact TWoW will likely be out before s6. Same with Benioff outright saying Shireen will be burned in the books too unnecessarily.

So let's see... bad writers... cowards... and [foo foo]s. There's certainly a nice short list of characteristics present in those two.

Can't see why I would give a damn about show!Jon's fate given the fact they took an excellent coming of age story (bolstered into something even better by ADwD) and made him into an idiot. Even the age of the actor removes the essence of the first three novels arc for Jon.

Though the actor whom played Benjen was good. He even had all the typical characteristics the books say a Stark male has.

[frick]! Here I thought we'd see Catlyn Stark come back. Especially with the episode title being what it is.

Not sure if this "break the internet" thing is a general saying, but if someone came up with it for the show alone and it was one of the producers, directors, writers, etc. sounds very [frick]ing arrogant. And once again shows those hacks only care about shock. Shock for the sake of shock.

Olly shanked Jon's girl with an arrow, now he's gonna...uhh...I mean, he has this look in his eyes like he wants to shank Jon....yeah. That's speculation on my part. I...I didn't spoil anything from the books. Honest!

The showrunners said the season will end with a scene that bookends the first scene of season 5: Cersie as a child with Maggie the Frog. What I'm thinking they mean is that we will get a flashback of well known characters in their youth. My 1st thought was of a young Ned finding his sister Lyanna giving birth, but now I'm not so sure.

Spoilers!!!

Are they finally gonna show in a flashback the epic showdown between Ned Stark and 6 of his men vs Arthur Dayne and 2 other Kingsguard who are guarding Lyanna Stark and her and Rhaegar's child?

@Ryguy88

Be pretty [frick]ing stupid. "Promise me, Ned", etc. was so important to Ned's arc and the man he is in AGoT. Oh no, they need Theon and Ros... or Tyrion and Ros... or Pycelle and Ros... Littlefinger and Ros... [frick]ing Ros, what a stupid character.
