As many expected it would, HBO's Game of Thrones ruled the 68th annual Primetime Emmy Awards show last night. After nine Creative Arts Emmy wins last week, the epic fantasy drama picked up the awards for Outstanding Writing For A Drama Series and Outstanding Directing For A Drama Series for the critically acclaimed penultimate season 6 episode, "The Battle of the Bastards." Then, the show capped things off by winning Outstanding Drama Series for the second year in a row, making it the most awarded scripted series in Emmy history with 38 wins in total.

Disappointingly, there were no acting awards handed out, with Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Kit Harington, Maisie Williams and Emilia Clarke all losing out in the Best Supporting Actor categories.

@MattBellissimo - Would love to see Fargo and The Man In The High Castle get more love. Those shows are incredible.

Glad Idris Elba was at least nominated for Luther. That show is badass

@MattBellissimo - awards and award shows are BS...winners are based on bribes.

Good for them, but one award is better than a million when it's so richly deserved.

I can't watch this show. I've tried so many times. It just doesn't do anything for me.

@Ryguy88 - i really don't know

there's a gif of a [frick]in dragon right under me, and that does something for me, but i just can't get into the drama. it's not that i don't like drama, i like good and slow character moments in my shows.

but i just don't care. it's just fantasy land to me, and i never have the urge to watch another episode. im sure it's great, truly. just can't get myself to be interested in it, kinda like black panther. can't get myself to like him neither, even though i should.

@ALostCause - how many eps did you try? If you're into this genre and you watch the first 5 or so eps of the first season I really don't see how anyone couldn't get into it.

This is well deserved. It's a shame though that shows like Hannibal and Penny Dreadful never even got nominations when they had seasons better than GoT when they were on.

Hell, Rory Kinnear, Eva Green, and especially Billie Piper were robbed this year. They deserved nominations for their incredible performances on the final season. It shows how the Academy only watches the shows that tend to trend on twitter.

Honestly, the show's not that good, and I've watched it since S1. At this point, though, I'm just watching it out of habit, and I feel I've invested on it for too long to stop now.

@incredibleTalk - walking dead sucks, there's 2 good episodes, 2 alright episodes, and 12 episodes of filler every season...not to mention they've managed to botch every iconic moment of the comic that made the source material special.
