@racerrex... I would read the books, they are much more expensive and as great as the show is, the books are better. The shock of events like the red wedding was just as strong in the book. Even more so to be honest. And there are enough small differences that both will feel fresh.

Waiting for the next book Martin.....would suck to invest so much so far only to have this author suddenly die of natural causes before he's finished.

Arya is kind of nerfed in the show. She's more of a stone cold killer in the books.

I haven't had the chance to read the novels but I'm completely hooked on the show. Martin has redefined the traditional fantasy genre with a story that has gritty down and dirty drama with edge of your seat action.

The genius about this story is that there is no good vs evil here, only shades of grey just like in the real world. The heroes are flawed and some of the apparent villains eventually are not what they seem to be.

You feel for these characters, because just like in the real world, at one second you're on top of the world and a moment later your life can end in a flash. And for Martin, no one is exempt. Heroes, villains, and even the protagonists are not safe from the Grim Reaper.

And the story keeps building up and leading to events and confrontations that are by far bigger than the characters themselves. Their plots and schemes pale in comparison with what they will eventually have to face as a whole.

Now for those who might be concerned with George R.R. Martin passing away before the books are finished, you can feel some relief. Fortunately Martin took the time to sit down with the producers and tell them exactly how he plans the story to end, in case that if he was gone before he could complete the novels, the producers could follow up the remaining story arc to its intended conclusion.









Winter is Coming.

I think this whole story has been about Jon Snow. If rumors prove true that he is the son of Rhaeger and Lyanna stark then he is indeed the "song" (product) of Fire (Rhaeger=Dragons) and Ice (Lyanna= direwolf(associated with the cold) ). Another indication was when GRRM pulled the title for the final book which was "A Time For Wolves". Some believe he did this because it was too obvious the victors would be the Starks most likely Jon Snow.
