I so [frick]ing wish I had Jon Snow's hair.

I'll let my hair grow just to see if looks the same as his.

Oh, and that scene where he was fighting like neo was badass as [frick]!!! Finally he's become a badass. We needed one after Oberyn passed away.

[frick]ing love this show. :)

Is that what she said to Jon before she died?
I tried to listen to it 3 times & couldn't hear what it was.

Observation:
Even though they are way outnumbered,the thousands of wildlings can't come in all at once.
Seems like the Nights Watch are seriously unprepared or incompetent.
I mean that all they do is train & prepare to defend the wall but they are not that good.

Stannis was supposed to show up.
[frick]ing show is getting farther away from the books

They're spacing things out so Martin can write those [frick]ing books! I was disappointed not to see Stannis but still a great ep. But Grenn and Pip dying? They better hope Martin doesn't have anything major planned for them in the story

They cover this in the show: most of the men at the wall are recruits, stewards, cooks, etc. All of their best men died in the huge ranging last season. They are most definitely seriously unprepared and most of them are incompetent. That's the point. If they were fully manned and prepared with actual hardcore rangers it would be no big deal.

@Carl
Stannis doesn't show up at this battle in the book. Stannis shows up days later after Jon goes out to talk to Mance. It'll happen that way in the show too. Same as the book.

There are millions invested in the show - lots of jobs too. They likely won't wait for Martin to finish the books and will start diverging more from them as time moves on. Stannis, I understand, comes later anyway. He's my favorite.

No of course they won't wait if they have no choice, but I'm sure the writers are looking at ways that they can prolong certain arcs and storylines. I mean next week's ep will bring us right up to where we're at with Bran and co. in the books..so yeah unless they're planning on not having them in next season, they'll have to make something up.

And yes I realize Stannis didn't arrive by the close of this ep, but I meant that I was expecting the ep to encompass all of the stuff with Mance and Stannis' arrival, not just the first attack...which they really could have done when you think about it.

I seriously doubt they're gonna do what Curb Your Enthusiasm does and take huge breaks, doing it whenever the showrunner wants. They could do a whole season or two depicting Robert's Rebellion/Sack of King's Landing.

They already filmed some of it and haven't shown us.

They could also go back and fourth in time with flash backs and flash forwards like The Godfather II, which would minimize the time they have for the main story.

No way Martin releases the next book anytime soon, and that's not even the last one.

Ahh..ok.

How effective was that hammer to the top of that bald guys head.
War hammers should be more prominent in GoT,not many helmet wearers I see.

Most likely date by for Winds of Winter will be 2015, probably late. Anyways, I must read the books when they come out. Better to be awed when engrossed by the actual books then stumble onto spoilers.

@McGee

They also didn't show the Tower of Joy from Ned's dream in the first book. If the most common theory for Jon's parentage is indeed true, that scene with Ned, Reed, etc vs. the Kingsguard is essential.

What a great ep. I was wondering if they would show the giants and mammoths. Its good to see Jon Snow kick some major ass. Now I'm curious to see how they end the season. Will they show Stannis save the wall? Or save that for next season.
