Summers span decades. Winters can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne continues.

It stretches from the south, where heat breeds plots, lusts and intrigues, to the vast and savage eastern lands, where a young queen raises an army. All the while, in the frozen north, an 800-foot wall of ice precariously protects the war-ravaged kingdom from the dark forces that lie beyond. Kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars, lords and honest men...all play the 'Game of Thrones.'

An original series based on George R.R. Martin's best-selling 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series.

So Jon travels eh?

Good guesses for episode 9? that is always the interesting one. The pits? Doesn't seem like Stannis would make a move by then.

Ohhhhh okay! Yeah, it seemed like you thought that was a spoiler! Ha! Anyhow, yeah, my two favorite characters meeting is awesome, especial when you consider the fact that Tyrion is the smartest character, and Dany is the most powerful. If those set photos are of any indication, they quickly get along.

My two favorite as well! However, Daenerys is really testing my love for her character with the executing the freed slave guy for killing the masked man yet wanting to give a fair trial to the masked man. Regardless, I want to see her on the Throne and Tyrion her right hand man.

This season is really dragging. At the pace they are going, there would be 3-4 more seasons before the stories come to their conclusion.

Sorry, this season goes off the rails so far, from the descriptions.

The previous seasons have been so DAMNED goo, because, for the most part, they followed the books.

But now, the show's writers have been allowed to veer off onto their own imaginative territories, until now it seems we have verged off into fan fiction more than the incredible journey we have enjoyed until now.

Sansa with Bolton? WTF???

We've wandered off into the weeds, we're off into Peter Jackson territory by now.

And GODDAMMIT, George RR Martin! You fat, lazy BASTARD! Perhaps had you kept writing and adding to the INCREDIBLE series of books you started, we'd not be off into la-la-land like these show writers have gone into.

But, then again, the show had INCREDIBLE pace already, but someone far up in the decision chain decided the show was going too slow, and had to push the pace far up into the storyline of the books.

We did not need to be at this point, this season. Everyone in the audience was eating up the storyline and character development with relish, it did not need to be rushed forward at the pace this season is proceeding.

The biggest truth ever.

@bropous I just re-watched the entire series to prepare for Season 5, and honestly it's kind of been building to this point. The writers have already made MASSIVE changes to the books in previous seasons, and it's only been happening more and more. This season is where it's most noticeable, but it's been following this pattern for a little while now.

I'm not as attached to the books as the more hardcore fans, but it helps to view the two mediums as telling the same story that will end up at the same destination (more or less)...only it's taking a different journey to get there.

Then again, I'm one of those book purists who was PISSED at what Peter Jackson did to The Hobbit, so I certainly understand your point of view haha.
