Lowkey this just as good as Watchmen so far. HBO has another gem here, one that could definitely become more of a mainstream hit.

@BlackBeltJones - I'm glad to hear it's good. I thought the movie had promise, but couldn't work the worldbuilding compressed runtime.

@BlackBeltJones -
"this just as good as Watchmen so far"

Not the highest of praise considering the poor writing and inconsistent tone of that show. Though i'm sure people will leap to defend that in the same way people leapt to defend Game Of Thrones until it declined even further and people realised the problems were inherent to the show since the start.

Honestly it all depends on how they adapt the religious aspects that caused the adaption of 'Northern Lights' (Golden Compass) to be regarded poorly.

These are story aspects that are touched upon briefly throughout but become much more prevelant at the end of Nothern Lights moving into Subtle Knife when we learn that the motivation of Mrs. Coulter is tied to preventing (SPOILERS) a second 'fall of man' (SPOILERS END)

Removing the messages of the original would leave the adaption feeling shallow in much the same way as removing the tone and subtle nature of the Watchmen comic leaves the HBO adaption feeling empty at times.
