THE NEVERS: Check Out A New Poster And Trailer For Joss Whedon's HBO's New Supernatural Series

HBO has revealed that its new series (which totally wasn't created by Joss Whedon, honest) The Nevers will kick off on Sunday, April 11th with "Part One" of its first season. That will comprise of six episodes, with "Part Two" - also made up of six instalments - set to follow at a later date.

The show, which will also be available on HBO Max, is set in Victorian London. It's 1986, and the city is rocked to its foundations by a supernatural event which gives certain people - mostly women - abnormal abilities, from the wondrous to the disturbing. But no matter their particular "turns," all who belong to this new underclass are in grave danger. It falls to mysterious, quick-fisted widow Amalia True (Laura Donnelly) and brilliant young inventor Penance Adair (Ann Skelly) to protect and shelter these gifted "orphans." To do so, they will have to face the brutal forces determined to annihilate their kind.

Now, the reason we made a point of mentioning Whedon at the top of this post is because WarnerMedia has distanced itself from the filmmaker following the allegations levelled at him by Justice League star Ray Fisher. Being removed from this series appears to have been his "punishment" for whatever happened, and whereas the Avengers: Age of Ultron director's name would have once been plastered over a trailer like this, it's nowhere to be seen.

That was to be expected, of course, and given what we've heard about Whedon in recent months, it's for the best. As for this series, it looks like it good be pretty good, but it's hard to say for sure right now.

The Nevers "Part One" is executive produced by Joss Whedon, Bernadette Caulfield, Ilene S. Landress, Doug Petrie, Jane Espenson and Philippa Goslett. Daniel S. Kaminsky co-executive produces.

Damn you joss whedon, I can forgive toxic behaviour, racism, sexism, abusing your actors but I draw the line at making tv shows full of british people. (/s just in case)

Was the Whedon thing a joke? I’m not understanding it.

@slickrickdesigns - About a decade ago Charisma Carpenter came out against Whedon about his reaction to her pregnancy and everyone ignored it because they liked Buffy, but now someone else made vague accusations against him as well so people are desperately overcompensating to make it look like they really give a damn.

Dishonesty runs amuck. You can't say Joss was removed from this and claim ZS left JL of his own accord. It's a horrible double standard.

@Waddles - That's one way to look at it. Another is, there were reports that Snyder was removed from the film well before his daughter killed herself.

It was never confirmed and neither was JW's removal from this show because of his behavior. The only thing we have is 2 men that claom to have left projects on their own accord.

@Waddles - Well, we don't know either of them personally, so I can't say what one would do to save face, hide shame, etc. I just work with facts given and whether it's shitty to label due to different circumstances or not, you can't call out one and not the other, or vice versa.

@inkniron - Maybe Joss just wanted to leave the public eye.

Whether or not he did anything beyond what we already know, people would still treat him as though he did. Shit has been thrown and shit sticks.
