Playstation 3 to get exclusive Watchmen Movie/Game Blu-ray Combo!

Warner Bros have announced a two-disc collectible set featuring both Watchmen: Directors Cut and game, Watchmen: The End is Nigh...

The special edition Blu-ray is also set to feature exclusive artwork in a premium package. The game will be included in the set (which is currently only available to download) but will be exclusive to PS3 owners due to the fact that the X-Box 360 cannot play Blu-ray's (although the game can be downloaded from X-Box Live)

'Watchmen: The End is Nigh' is divided in two parts. Part 1 (which was released in March 2009 on the PlayStation Network) takes place more than a decade before the film's main story, delves into the partnership of urban vigilantes Rorschach and Nite Owl giving the player control of both of these characters. In Part 2 (scheduled to be released in July), the duo team up again as Rorschach contacts Nite Owl to help solve the case of a missing girl, Violet Greene.

It is currently unclear whether this set will also be released in the UK (though I sure as hell hope so) and there are no details whether this set will be more expensive. It is however expected to released at the same time as the DVD and regular Blu-ray in late July.

That sounds good, but I if I was the WB. I would have release the Black Friegther with the Watchmen DVD on a Double Disk.

they're probably saving that until X-Mas,hoping to cash in on what by then will probably be the third special edition! the above blu-ray release sounds great though (i wouldnt pay a lot extra though as i have tried a demo of the game and its not all that great or long especially for something like £17.99 per part)

still, this is yet another reason to own a PS3!

This is actually funny because Sony touted how the games for PS3 would be so huge, they wouldn't fit on a DVD9 Disc. So, now, they're launching a High Def movie with a game on the same disc? Sounds like there was a little room left after all. How many PS3 games have actually used the entire BluRay disc? I can only think of one which may have come close.

the point is that the blu ray disc is SO huge that even the biggest game doesnt use up all that blu ray space! i did read somewhere recently that the PS3 game 'Infamous' (which is a Sony exclusive) could never have been released on the 360 as it wouldnt fit on a dvd! also some final fantasy game coming out this year or next (not interested myself) has had to be cut down and dialogue removed for the 360 but not for blu ray.

What a great idea, I can't believe we get a game and a film awesome, the power of the PS3 and blu ray.

zs450- My guess is that this game is first off not long enough to warrent even half of a bluray disc. I'm just not buying this one... it really looks like another bad adaptation game of a comic book movie. Very few i've found to be decent.

oh yeah. PS3 for my Birthday(November), and I will be picking up the Watchmen blu ray..... you gotta start those expensive Blu Ray collections early. (up to 7 now) ...
If there is a super-duper-special edition Watchmen (Vol #13) by the time x-mas rolls around ...... X-Mas gift.
