IN HER DARKEST HOUR PEGGY RISKS IT ALL TO SAVE HOWARD STARK AND THE WORLD, ON "MARVEL'S AGENT CARTER" ON ABC

"Valediction" - Peggy faces the full fury of Leviathan, as Howard Stark makes his return in the explosive season finale of "Marvel's Agent Carter," TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 24 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

It's 1946 and peace has dealt Peggy a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy finds herself stuck doing administrative work when she would rather be back out in the field; putting her vast skills into play and taking down the bad guys. But she is also trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life, Steve Rogers – aka Captain America.

When old acquaintance Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper, Marvel's "Captain America: The First Avenger”) finds himself being framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons to anyone willing to pony up the cash, he contacts Peggy - the only person he can trust - to track down those responsible, dispose of the weapons and clear his name. He empowers his butler, Edwin Jarvis (James D'Arcy, “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World”), to be at her beck and call when needed to help assist her as she investigates and tracks down those responsible for selling these weapons of mass destruction. But Jarvis, who is a creature of habit and sticks to a rigid daily routine, is going to have to make some major life changes if he’s going to be able to keep up with Peggy.

If caught going on these secret missions for Stark, Peggy could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison – or worse. And as she delves deeper into her investigation, she may find that those she works for are not who they seem, and she might even begin to question whether Stark is as innocent as he claims.

Agent Carter will feature:
Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter
Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark
James D'Arcy as Edwin Jarvis
Chad Michael Murray as Agent Jack Thompson
Enver Gjokaj as Agent Daniel Sousa
Shea Whigham as Roger Dooley
Lyndsy Fonseca as Angie Martinelli
Kyle Bornheimer as Ray Krzeminski
Costa Ronin as Anton Vanko
Bridget Regan as Dottie
Meagen Fay as Miriam Fry

Wish Dr. Faustus had the comic look. Oh well.

I do hope we get a second season. Then we can see Howard's transition from playboy to serious businessman.

show's absolutely pointless, but I will admit that I'll miss the sexy shots of hayley.

@DrDoom @EzioKenway1225 It would be unfortunate if the Agent Carter One-Shot was no longer part of canon, but I do hope this stays in continuity:

If you ignore blaring inconsistencies and major plot holes and bad writing than yeah it doesn't fail to keep people watching.

Such as? I'm seriously curious, if there were major plot holes I sure didn't notice them.

True but I don't have the strength to sit through Gotham and do the same. I noticed issues with the miniseries since I started though. Claims that Peggy fought alongside Cap and the Howling Commandos in the movie that never happened lol.

@SigmaCenturion I'm with you buddy. The shows very predictable, and bland. Which is a shame because Haley is great, and the character herself had a lot of potential.

Them killing off a Howling Commando goes against what they stated in the Winter Soldier about Bucky being the only one to die. The way that they play up Carter's record stating that she had field experience and when comparing it to the movie she was never out in the field besides the ending battle. For the most part Cap and the Howling Commandos were way ahead while Peggy and Jones were at the rear.

the Life or death situation... man, it certainly doesn't qualify as a BLARING insonsistency. Seen much, much worse.

As for Peggy never fighting alongside cap and the commandos, yeah, I noticed that too. But since in Captain America TFA we weren't show all of their adventures but merely a synopsis of them... well, its not entirely out of the realm of possibility to consider she may have fought alongside them in one or more adventures that may have been ommited in the montage.

Then there is the part with all of the fights going her way when the choreography doesn't portray that they are giving it 100% everyone seems to underestimate her too much to the point where it is a plot hole. SSR is a top secret organization and they don't read up on their own people?. A team is sent after her and they aren't briefed on her record and don't take guns? She is technically an enemy agent. Hell that guy in TFA they came out guns ablazing. The way they demoted her to the point where she is a secretary and is in a man's world seems a bit forced considering where she was in TFA rank wise and what she had access to. Look at Dooley he was higher up in the SSR and he didn't have access to certain records. She had access to troop placement. How Stark went from tinkerer to making WMDs in the blink of an eye.

It portrayed a big chunk of the time from what I remember. She was in the war room or with the general most of the time. They make it out like Cap and Her hadnt seen eachother in awhile judging by that clip where she is watch news reels.

The actor who portals Jarvis said there will be a huge easter egg...I feel like it'll be winter soldier. Maybe him being first operated on. Soviets aka leviathan scientists giving him his arm. Winter soldier program being another facet of Russia battling the allies like the red room is. That is until hydra arrives and takes over winter soldier

@SigmaCenturion you know that television is entertinemt right? ?? Purely that's what it is. To demand so much from an eight wpisode show is asking a lot. It's pure fun.. agent carter is like a classic fun 40s romp sprinkled with in tiger and noir
TheScarletTroll
TheScarletTroll - 2/18/2015, 8:24 PM
@SigmaCenturion The fact that they underestimate her despite her record is a plot point, not a plot hole. Clearly whatever records exist don't offer a thorough enough explanation of her individual contributions to overcome the inherent prejudice and sexism running rampant through the SSR. They had to see it firsthand to believe it.

Her being demoted is exactly what happened to every other working woman at the time. Despite doing a perfectly competent job, once the war's over and the men start coming home, they have to give up their spots on the totem pole. And even then, since the SSR doesn't seem to be a military operation, her rank in the First Avenger is completely irrelevant. She's assigned to the position she's been assigned to, which happens to be secretary rather than field agent.

And Stark wasn't just a "tinkerer" even before this show. He's the one who made the Arc Reactor, remember? Even during the First Avenger, he almost had an ANTI-GRAVITY CAR completed.
SigmaCenturion
SigmaCenturion - 2/18/2015, 8:24 PM
Also the main plot doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Couldn't Stark have contacted someone involved with project rebirth and say "Hey someone stole my shit there was a vial of captain america blood could you take this problem seriously?"? In TFA they acted like the SSR was the best of the best but this show paints them differently almost like something happened between then and now. There is no way Carter would have worked up to her rank in the world shown in Agent Carter.

Hey stories have to work and not fall apart. The MCU is a big story one part of it turns to crap and the rest of it is pulled down a little bit. Carter had other options available apparently The Howling Commandos offered her a spot pretty sure Stark offered her a job as well. Not seeing how the whole demotion to secretary really works when she could have taken those jobs and kept her rank or trade up in jobs.

GhostDog - 2/18/2015, 8:32 PM
There shouldnt be this significance placed in peggy's status in this sexist world, battles, ranks and what not....the mcu is a combo of comicbookiness tone and world and the real world. It's fake, fun and entertaining. Plot holes don't matter. It's not the end of the world. Thus show ha snore positives than negatives and the plot holes aren't so earth shattering and ridiculous as to where it's reason for anger

People here treat this like it's real world. Who gives a [frick] about how certain jobs were attained....these characters are fake lol. it's just entertainment
SigmaCenturion
SigmaCenturion - 2/18/2015, 8:36 PM
I just find offense with the way show is marketed and the story they chose which completely undermines the story they had in place and damages characters within the mcu which will ripple into the rest of it. I mean ABC's marketing campaign consist she is a woman look what she can do which I find funny that they did no such thing with Black Widow or any of the other female characters. They are using Carter as a poor replacement for Nick Fury sr at this point.

SigmaCenturion
SigmaCenturion - 2/18/2015, 8:51 PM
I dont know I must be. lol. The fights alone sort of ruin the show at this point. They have her beating everyone she fights to the point where the writers thought she had powers. From watching the show it is apparent that a lot of the characters have been written so that they seem inferior to Carter almost all the time. No one really excels above Carter which i find very strange. The one exception might be Dottie but odd again a woman character? Yet again pretty odd add that up with the cripple lasting longer in a fight against Dottie? Add that to Howling Commando episode where of them died. Are they trying to imply a cripple can last longer than a Howling Commando? LOL.
