At the end of The Defenders, Matt Murdock's friends believed he died alongside Elektra when The Hand's plan to take over New York quite literally came toppling down on them. While that may have been an underwhelming end for the clandestine group of ninjas, we later learned that Matt was rescued by Elektra and place in the care of his mother, Sister Maggie. So, what exactly comes next?
Well, if the Tweet below is any indication, season three of Daredevil is going to kick off with everyone still thinking Matt is dead and gone. There's precedent for this happening in the comics too as the Man Without Fear once faked his death and donned a new armoured costume to protect his identity.
It's thought that the show is going to adapt the "Born Again" storyline but in that, Daredevil didn't end up in Maggie's care until after Wilson Fisk had attempted to kill him by drowning him in a taxi. As a result, it's clear some big changes are going to be made to the tale when it's brought to Netflix but if this image really is a teaser relating to season three, it's clear things will kick off with a new status quo.
