ECHO's Lead Villain Has Reportedly Been Revealed And They Have Major DAREDEVIL Ties - Possible SPOILERS

A new rumour claims to reveal who Echo's lead villain will be, while we also have details on how the Disney+ series sets the stage for Daredevil: Born Again. Be warned that possible spoilers follow...

Marvel Studios will release all episodes of Echo in one go this November, a new approach to sharing its Disney+ TV shows with the world.

We're used to most streaming series dropping in one go, of course, but as the landscape has changed in recent years, weekly drops are now commonplace. Why? To keep people subscribed for longer, of course.

Many fans have questioned why this Hawkeye spin-off is even happening, with the prevailing theory being that Marvel Studios just wants to get it on the streamer and out of the way. However, it now sounds like it will be a crucial lead-in for Daredevil: Born Again.

As you can see below, Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk/Kingpin will be Echo's big bad, with the plan being for Maya Lopez to send him packing by the time this six-episode series ends.

However, when Fisk returns to New York City and his criminal empire, the stage is set for the villain to run for Mayor. That's obviously going to be disastrous for the Big Apple's street-level superheroes, including the Man Without Fear.

We'd hazard a guess that all this will result in Echo appearing in Daredevil: Born Again but, as of now, nothing has been confirmed on that front.

The origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox), whose ruthless behaviour in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.

As noted, all episodes of Echo will premiere on Disney+ on November 29.

If they think it’s going to go down well Echo beating Kingpin after Kate, it’s not. And frankly, regardless of their gender, Fisk shouldn’t be getting punked around like that.

SonOfAGif - 7/27/2023, 2:17 PM
@PlusUltra - Despite Fisk losing to Kate, It established him as a tank and powerhouse. He was eating those arrows and took a full EMP blast to the face and still got up and walked away. The Netflix Kingpin got beat up by a villain who was throwing TJ Maxx Home Decor at him.

@PlusUltra -

The only girls that should be able to beat up kingpin is…

Captain Marvel
Scarlet Witch
She-Hulk
Taonrey
Taonrey - 7/27/2023, 2:54 PM
@HulkisHoly - lol there multiple female X-men that should be able to beat him up
SATW42
SATW42 - 7/27/2023, 2:54 PM
@HulkisHoly - oh this is a fun game, Fisk does not have powers. He's simply a very smart man in peak physical condition and strength while having some martial arts skills. I'm assuming you mean in the MCU and not the comics, because if we're just talking "girls" in general, there's plenty of women who would absolutely wreck house on him. The X-men alone for example.

@Taonrey -

Sure but I guess I was thinking of heroes on earth but Valkyrie is on earth and Marvel is often in the cosmos so that doesn’t make sense either but sure…
All of those ladies should be able to beat Kingpin.
SATW42
SATW42 - 7/27/2023, 4:10 PM
@HulkisHoly - I mean apart from people already mentioned, and following the rules of having to be on Earth, I think even with one arm Lady Sif would destroy King Pin.

If "beat them up" means youre implying hand to hand combat than sure, but I guess it depends on what we consider "hand to hand"

If Pepper Potts can fight him in her Rescue suit, I don't really see what Wilson Fisk is doing up against close range missiles and repulsor blasts. If the iron man suit can take punches from Thanos, it certainly can from Fisk.

Shuri also created a suit that can literally absorb energy, harness it, and than use it against your opponent.

These are all realistic against Fisk.

@SATW42 -

Sure, mech suits would stand a good chance.
I guess I was thinking more magic and hand to hand combat.
But I yes, I agree about Shuri and Pepper.

I think Kingpin is just hard because he’s not meant to have powers but he’s clearly done superhuman things in the comics.

@SATW42 - Xialing?

Thena??

Makkari???
SATW42
SATW42 - 7/27/2023, 6:49 PM
@SauronthePower - I was trying to stick with OGs rule of them being on earth. Thena and makkari are off planet. Thena would absolutely wreck him, makkari would be interesting. If she gets a jump on him sure, but if he sees her coming, in theory he could rock her with a punch.

Xialing has to fight close combat hand to hand. I think Fisk is too big and powerful and would toss her around. In theory he could grab the rope dart and use her like a yo yo
SauronthePower
SauronthePower - 7/28/2023, 1:38 AM
@SATW42 - Makkari was whoopin-up on Ikkaris pretty good. I think that Fisk would have a VERY difficult time with her

Xialing would be more interesting. Bruce Lee supposedly privately acknowledged that he could not take the stuntman that Pitt’s character was loosely based off of due to the size differential nullifying the martial arts proficiency but, I would have to believe that Xialing could myster a very credible challenge based on speed and guile

@DudeGuy - Honestly it would make things even worse if Echo is able to beat Kingpin too. Is he just going to become the street level MCU punching bag?
KWilly
KWilly - 7/27/2023, 2:38 PM
@DudeGuy - Marvel definitely thought Echo would've been a huge fan favorite before they even saw the results.

Jumped the gun, gave her a show that will probably bring in less ratings than Secret Invasion.
clintthahamster
clintthahamster - 7/27/2023, 2:43 PM
@DudeGuy - Reasons to watch Echo:
1. You like the character, and want to watch the show.
2. You enjoy MCU productions, generally.
3. The show is generally well reviewed.

You know, like any other comic book show or movie.

This is another one that nobody wanted except for Victoria Alanso. I'm the looses lefty lib on the planet but they just took this stuff too far. Too much box checking. Instead of trying to represent every slim minority how about telling compelling stories with characters that most people can relate to.
SonOfAGif
SonOfAGif - 7/27/2023, 2:14 PM
Disney+ would be wise to release this series as a whole and not weekly. Because this will be another show that poisons what the MCU established. Nobody asked for Echo. I am a big advocate for representation and diversity but another property could have been given the budget and allowed Daredevil to appear such as Luke Cage.
Ha1frican
Ha1frican - 7/27/2023, 2:31 PM
@SonOfAGif - That’s how I watch the shows now. I used to watch week to week but the shows don’t really work well as individual episodes. I just binged all of Secret Invasion and I can’t imagine enjoying that in an episode fashion. Only one I’ll watch week to week MIGHT be Daredevil just to avoid spoilers
mountainman
mountainman - 7/27/2023, 2:39 PM
@SonOfAGif - There are more interesting Native American heroes in the Marvel universe. Thunderbird/Warpath. Moonstone. Forge. Red Wolf. Shaman.

None of them are huge names though. Personally if I were to see a show lead by any of them, it would be Dani Moonstar. Maybe with her as leader of the New Mutants.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 7/27/2023, 5:17 PM
@mountainman - Thats the whole problem with Phase 4. They are taking side characters and trying to make people feel like they are as important as the main characters by giving them all their own shows and movies.

I'm sorry, but people are always going to miss Steve, Stark, Widow, and T'Challa. None of these 2nd rate characters are going to fill that void.

@CorndogBurglar - That's not true, they can make sure characters interesting. I still remember this guy

mountainman

@CorndogBurglar - That’s the kicker isn’t it?

While Agatha was a highlight of WandaVision, so many people want a show starring her?

IronHeart had mixed reception in BP2. How will she do in her own show?

Then we have Falcon Cap. Mackie is good in the role, but he’s not a leading man. Let’s see how that movie plays out.

Echo is a F lister in comics. I found her ok in Hawkeye, but really not sure if I need a whole show starring her.
TheVisionary25
TheVisionary25 - 7/27/2023, 2:16 PM
Well no shit , i thought we knew this.

Anyway , I think it’s rumored that the Black Knife Cartel is in this too so I wouldn’t be surprised if they are under Fisk’s umbrella of crime too or work with him thus Fisk showing back up towards the end.

Anyway , I thought Echo was fine in Hawkeye personally (kinda one dimensional but understandably so) but I hope this series turns out well

Now let the “who asked for this” comments begin!!.

Hated how they had Kingpin doing stuff he’d hire a hitman to do in the Hawkeye show.
SonOfAGif
SonOfAGif - 7/27/2023, 2:20 PM
@Matchesz - He did hire Hitmen and they all failed him. The problem was an Avenger was involved so of course that's a major concern to Fisk. None of them knew Ronin was Clint Barton.
Matchesz
Matchesz - 7/27/2023, 2:38 PM
@SonOfAGif - i’m referring to him going after Kates mom. The way they built him up in the daredevil show he is way smarter than that
Vigor
Vigor - 7/27/2023, 2:53 PM
@Matchesz - you guys are going to be straining and searching for differences between the two daredevil shows ad nauseum. This is no surprise
GhostDog
GhostDog - 7/27/2023, 2:59 PM
@Matchesz - he did get his hands dirty in Daredevil. Taking off the Russians head. He gets his hands dirty when pushed or angered enough.

And I think the fact that it’s clear his empire is not what it used to be was implied. The tracksuits were as skilled, professional, or deep as when he has the Russians, Chinese, and Yakuza as partners.
HOTSHOT
HOTSHOT - 7/27/2023, 3:05 PM
@Matchesz - He literally told the Tracksuits to go after her and they failed because an Avenger interfered. So he decided to do it himself. That sounds like Fisk.
SonOfAGif
SonOfAGif - 7/27/2023, 5:16 PM
@HOTSHOT - Exactly this. A lot of people forget that when various heroes get involved, Fisk himself chooses to get his hands dirty. Fisk hates failure and especially when it's caused by one of the many heroes he despises.
