During the Marvel Studios portion of the Disney+ presentation yesterday, Kevin Feige officially announced that Wyatt Russell (Overlord) has joined the cast of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier as John F. Walker, a.k.a. U.S. Agent. In the comics, the character was a member of the West Coast Avengers and even served as Captain America for a spell.

Feige also confirmed that Marvel Cinematic Universe veteran Emily VanCamp (Captain America: Civil War) will indeed reprise her role as Sharon Carter in the upcoming series.

Anthony Mackie (Avengers: Endgame) and Sebastian Stan (Avengers: Endgame) will headline the highly anticipated series with Daniel Brühl (Captain America: Civil War) serving as the series' primary antagonist.

Kari Skogland (The Handmaid's Tale) is directing the six-episode live-action series with Malcolm Spellman (Empire) on scripting duties. The series is expected to debut in August 2020, exclusively on Disney+.

THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER

Director Kari Skogland introduced Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, the stars of Marvel Studios’ ”The Falcon and The Winter Soldier,” which finds Falcon and the Winter Soldier teaming up after “Avengers: Endgame.” Emily VanCamp came on stage and Feige revealed that she will reprise her role as Sharon Carter. Then, he introduced the crowd to Wyatt Russell who will play John Walker—a character from the comics coming to the screen for the first time. Head writer Malcom Spellman was also on hand to greet the crowd. “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” will launch on Disney+ in 2020.

US Agent is cool and all... but I'd really love to see the MCU D-Man.

And as long as we're getting Game of Thrones refugees...

I watched a movie a few weeks ago with him on Netflix called Shimmer Lake, I enjoyed it and thought Russell did well in it.

It also had Benjamin Walker who I could see play a Superhero as he is quite tall and has a presence, although I had almost forgotten that he was in S3 of Jessica Jones, as I haven't seen it.
He also resembles Eric Bana alot.

Could be neat, so long as they remember that US Agent was, for the most part, patriotism taken to borderline villainous extremes, and regularly crossing that border, and not just Steve Rogers v2.0.

Which unfortunately is kind of old hat if you've seen the news in the last, oh, twenty years.

It’s so smart to bring US Agent into this. Such a perfect place and story to introduce the character.

Shit still broken?

@Spock0Clock -

They should introduce the Unlimited Class Championship Wrestling and directly/indirectly introduce a bunch of different characters. You bring in Dennis Dunphy and can toss in references to like Ben Grimm, Ikaris, Melissa Gold, and Mary MacPherran in one fell swoop.
