Well, Iron Fist came out yesterday, and to me it wasn't as bad as the reviews said it was. I recently finished the third episode and I am enjoying it so far. This is a discussion thread, so inlude your thoughts in the comments down below. I tried to make one of these earlier, but it was deleted, hopefully this one isn't, and yeah. Feel free to include spoilers but for the rest of us, please at the beginning of your comment, include the word SPOILERS in Caps, and the episode number, so those who aren't at that episode yet can just skip over it.

On Episode 3 right now, and am liking it quite a bit, yes, the writing is pretty wierd in places so far, but nothing OUTRAGEOUS, and the fight scenes do need a little work, but apparently they get better, so we'll see. IMO it's good, we'll see how it ends.

@LeonardTheWise - Agreed. This is not as good as DD S1, but I liked it more than JJ. JJ was a better show, but this had *SPOILERS* no rape stuff, was lighter on the mind-fvckery and had some fun martial arts going on (which is right up my alley). I felt it had less pacing issues than some Marvel shows, but they were still present. And Danny's arc was flat for probably at least the first 2/3rds of the series, and then was written a bit sloppily after that. The fighting isn't as bad as I thought. As a martial artist, I can tell Finn is not very good, but it is passable, and hopefully he kept training to prepare for the Defenders.

If I had to rate it, I'd say on overall quality, 6/10. On how I enjoyed it, I'd give it a 7-8/10. It's not anything super-special, but it is far from a waste of time and the mess that some critics have deemed it to be.

@TomSolo - Yeah, it's pretty okay, I really like Danny, the moment Finn sold me was when he was talking to the Dr, that was some very VERY good line delivery.

@LeonardTheWise - Yup. It's a totally fine show. I think we have gotten to the point where folks like us are just enjoying the hell out of the fact that there is so much CB content, the general public is, for the most part, accepting the genre as legitimate entertainment and some of the snootier critics are becoming sick of the genre. So if it doesn't blow the lid off right from the start or reinvent the wheel, some critics will say it's garbage. And I don't think that is always he case.

I have seen garbage CB shows. Night Man, M.A.N.T.I.S., the original Flash... Everything about Iron Fist is waaaaaay better that these shows. I feel these low reviews forget how far we've come.

Just finished episode 4 and i love it. Danny is great and so is Colleen. Also i didn't even know Jessica Stroup was gonna be in it, haven't seen her since the following.

I actually agree with the critics on a lot of things, but i sure as hell would not give a 4 out of 10.
It's a 6 out of 10 for me.
Not great, but good.

It really reminds me of the Sam Raimi Spiderman films for some reason. I honestly loved it, but I could be a bit biased because Iron Fist is my favourite comic character, but I really loved the fights, character, and the villains, especially the little single appearances that I hope we see again like Zhou Cheng (love the fact that they mentioned the demon in him) bride of nine spiders, killer chefs, and the karaoke killer (don't know who he was meant to be but he was a highlight). The way they shot the fight scenes might turn some viewers off, but I like how over the top something's are like the drunken Fist, and how they'd pause the camera at the character as they do specific stances. It's certainly the most fun I've had watching the Netflix series, and some character inclusions and castings I loved but one specifically can't mention due to spoilers.

Episode 6 was one of the best defender episodes in my opinion, especially the Thunderer talking to Danny as he fought the three (well four I guess) warriors.

I'm on episode 4, Head honcho Meachu, seems like a good guy, but idk, I am interested in this series so far, definately above Luke Cage and DD season 2

@ConnorHawkeye - what... so the first 4 episodes of DD season 2 with all the epic DD vs punisher stuff and amazing dialogue on the roof top is worse than the first eps of Iron fist with all the dumb corporate shit and terrible dialogue... ok

Maybe the show's a piece of shit and the critics hate it, but hopefully they give it a second season to fix their errors.

I could get past the writing and other issues if I liked the main character.


But I don't.


Danny is an idiot and Finn jones is just not convincing, imo.

@NoMeaning45 - I actually really like Danny, I really dug the mental issue aspect (very Moon knight), but I don't know enough about the character to be completely fair, so that might be why I enjoy his portrayal.
