Though Marvel and Netflix's Iron Fist will obviously focus primarily on Danny Rand's journey, it will also delve into the backstory of Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick), who must work through her own issues when she decides to help Danny on his dangerous mission to rid New York of a lethal new drug, while also dealing with an addiction to beating the crap out of people as a cage fighter.
Yes, Ms. Wing is quite the badass.
Henwick recently spoke to Collider about her initial hesitation to take on the role, fearing that she'd be playing just another "Asian woman who does martial arts who’s a love interest," but Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb assured her that they would tackle the stereotype - not by avoiding it, but by "inspecting it."
