Marvel Producer Jeph Loeb Teases The Possibility Of Seeing IRON FIST Don His Costume In Season 2

With no evidence indicating otherwise, many fans began to worry that we'd never see Netflix's Danny Rand suit up in his Iron Fist costume, but now the head of Marvel TV suggests that won't be the case...

Among the many criticisms leveled at the first season of Marvel and Netflix’s Iron Fist, was the absence of the hero’s iconic costume. However, while that was a big disappointmen to many, some fans gained newfound hope when the final shot of Danny Rand (Finn Jones) in The Defenders seemingly teased a comic-accurate outfit for the hero in the future.

Still, with no set pics from Iron Fist Season 2—or any material for the second season of Luke Cage—pointing to the hero finally suiting up. many remained worried. Thankfully, those worries have now been addressed by the head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb.

In a recent Reddit AMA, a fan asked Loeb whether Iron Fist will receive his costume soon, and while the producer didn’t give a solid yes or no answer, he did tell the fan that they will “be very happy with Season 2 coming this year.”

Once again, this isn’t absolute confirmation that Danny will be suiting up in the show’s second season, but it would be a poor decision on Loeb’s part to tease fans like this, only to have Rand go another season without his costume.

If only no costume was the one problem with season one. Have a decent script and fight choreography and he can be wearing a Thomas the Tank Engine onesie for all I care.

@TwistedInk82 - It was part of the problem, Danny Rand is a famous guy, going around beating up ninjas in the street with his face uncovered was asking for it. And there was no reason they couldn't do it, even minimalist stile with a green hoodie and a yellow handkerchief with two holes as an improvised mask. It was just one of the many parts of that series that visibly had very little thought put into it.

@DetBullock - Oh very true, you're right. I meant more the full comic book version costume, he definitely needed a simple mask of some sort. I would love the full costume, but really it's down the list of things the show needs, but a mask is right near the top.

Isn't Daredevil S3 coming out this year?

Don't know why they didn't give him the costume to begin with, though. It's not even an elaborate one like Daredevil's that requires a reason for it to exist and dramatic buildup. Just have him decide in the first few episodes that he needs to conceal his identity, then he takes a yellow bandana, cuts some eyeholes into it, and paints them black.

My main concern for all the seperate defender shows is the poor response Jessica Jones season 2 got. No one was talking about it even before it came out. Publicity was non existent. It just came and went. It wasn't a great season, but not a bad one either, I was just surprised that no one was talking about it either way. Hopefully Cage S2 Punisher S2 Daredevil S3 and Iron Fist S2 get more buzz before the shows drop, would hate to see these shows just quietly disappear.

I honestly never understand why people who make these projects don't just give the people what they want.

@MasterMix - because when they give people what the want, you get OLICITY.

@RageDriver2401 - I mean give long time comic book fans what they want. Not fangirl posers who don't know crap about these characters outside of TV & Movies.

Please just give us this.... all we need is this.... look at the fighting style... look at his outfit.... look at how he moves when he fights... how do you get this so right, yet get the rest of the series so wrong.... YOU'VE GOT THE PERFECT IRON FIST IN THIS SCENE...
