LOKI: Disney+ Inadvertently Reveals The TRUE Identity Of [SPOILER] In The Show's Voice Dubbing Credits

Disney+ may have just made one of its biggest blunders yet by including the true identity of that major new addition to the MCU in the Loki voice dubbing credits that play right at the end of the episode!

As we explained here on CBM a little earlier today, this week's episode of Loki introduced us to a female version of the God of Mischief played by Sophia Di Martino. While there were hints that there might be more to "Lady Loki" than meets the eye (Loki praised her mastery of enchantments), her true identity has now been inadvertently spoiled.

In the credits for the Spanish voice dubbing right at the end of the episode, Elisa Beuter is credited as "Sylvie" rather than "The Variant."

This was clearly an oversight on Disney+'s part, and one we expect to see removed soon!

Comic book fans will know that Sylvie Lushton lived in Oklahoma and had a relatively normal life until Asgard appeared over Broxton and she one day woke up with magical powers. These were secretly given to her by Loki, and she later moved to New York City and took on the "Enchantress" mantle, basing herself on the original Enchantress, Amora.

The God of Mischief would later reveal that he liked the idea of creating a mortal who suspected she might be Asgardian, a hint that she was neither human nor Asgardian, and simply a being Loki made.

Is it too soon to predict that this Sylvie was created by a Loki many fans believe will be played by Richard E. Grant?

''this Sylvie was created by a Loki many fans believe will be played by Richard E. Grant?''

That certainly sounds like it could be a possibility, but right now I'm sticking to Lady Loki. By now I should've learned not to start speculating like a madman.

@bkmeijer - she's clearly a version of Enchantress. What they actually end up calling her is besides the point.

I've been saying for months that she's Sylvie. Her appearance & the fact that Cailey Fleming has been cast as 'Young Sylvie' which means there's also an adult version of the character frolicking around. And Sophia was the only cast member who fit the description of 'Adult Sylvie'

@Alesia -
There is no way she is a straight up Loki. There will be more twists and turns.

We all know she is:

Perhaps E Grant's Loki feels the same as our Loki about the destruction of Asgard and the death of thousands of Asgardians. So he traveled to Asgard before Ragnarok and he saved young Sylvie. E Grant's Loki is a father to her and he teaches her about the mystical arts.

I went back to take a look at the previous appearances of the hooded variant before the reveal at the mall, and I gotta say it seemed a lot more like a masculine figure to me. If that's the case, then there are definitely more players in this than just the Enchantress.

@Fares - it did. It definitely changed for the reveal, maybe just purposely done, but there might be more to it

@Fares - Of course. They showed someone else setting up the bombs while Loki was following her through the store

I think it's safe to say that whatever the explanation is now will be different by the end. No way will they lay out the plot in episode one and have it be consistent throughout.

I honestly thought straight away she was Amora. That makes the most sense.

I also thought she was Amora, almost immediately. He says "enchantments", and she is mind controlling people. Plus the blonde hair.

However, this is clearly Sylvie. If Disney named her as Variant in the english credits but the international credits [frick]ed it up and listed her as Sylvie, this is a HUGE error on their part.

I knew it she's the Enchantress, but I didn't expect that the Sylvie one 🤷‍♂️

Does this unintended reveal ruin the rest of the series? I have no idea because I was not familiar with Sylvie or Enchantress.

Just finished the second episode and ... Damn, that is a sharp script. I liked WandaVision a lot and big parts of Falcon and Winter Soldier, but this dialogue is on another level.

Again... what evidence is there that someone in a different timeline would be played by a different actor? Even when they showed the various Loki variants, they were all Tom Hiddleston with various photoshopping skillz applied.

@malschla - While I think you're right that there's no direct evidence of "alternate recasts", we do have evidence of just normal recasts. If Marvel can swap actors between movies and say it's the same person, I don't doubt they could introduce an alternate actor from an alternate reality and just tell the audience to "deal with it".

@Spock0Clock - I’d be fine with that. However, I think that if there are two versions of the same character in the same film or show, they would be played by the same person.
