MOON KNIGHT Costume Designer On The Possibility Of Disney+ Series Returning For Season 2

Despite rumors that Marvel Studios is planning a second season of Moon Knight, a key member of the crew, costume designer Meghan Kasperlik, hasn't been told anything a potential return...

Rumors that a second season of Moon Knight might be in development have been doing the rounds for quite a while now, but if there are plans in place to continue the Disney+ series, Marvel Studios has been playing it very close to the chest.

Although the first season certainly left the door open for more, a sophomore run was never guaranteed. Out of all the Marvel Disney+ shows, Loki is the only one to return for a second season, and Moon Knight wasn't an especially big hit for the streaming service.

However, shortly after the first season aired, star Oscar Isaac appeared alongside EP/director Mohammed Diab in a TikTok shared by the latter's niece, who asks if we're going to get a second season of Moon Knight. "Why else would we be in Cairo," Isaac replied.

This was the closest we've come to "official" confirmation that The Fist of Khonshu will be back for more adventures... and it was back in 2022.

Speculation was reignited when it was announced that Moon Knight: The Complete First Season was coming to Blu-ray, and designer Meghan Kasperlik was asked about the possibility of a second season during an interview with Screen Rant.

"No, people have been asking me and maybe that's why, because of The Complete First Season of the Blu-Ray, but no, I've heard nothing. I've heard nothing about it," she responded.

Kasperlik was then asked if there were any particular outfits from the comics she'd like to work on if the show did return.

"I think it all depends on what the story would be. Because so many times when shows say that they're only doing one season or whatnot, then they come back, something about the story changes so much or a new character is incorporated that is not maybe necessarily thought of. Listen, if they do a season 2, I am on board. I loved it so much, but I haven't gotten any phone calls."

The season finale ended with the introduction of another persona, the ruthless Jake Lockley, emerging and joining forces with Khonshu to eliminate Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke). We're not sure where the story could go from there, but there's always a chance Spector might make the jump to the big screen, as there is also talk of the character being part of a Midnight Sons movie.

Moon Knight follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector.

As Steven/Marc's enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.

Both suits were impeccable. Shame we never saw Jake's.

@DrReedRichards - agreed…

Wonder what Jake’s could look like?.

@TheVisionary25 -

On one hand, I'm thinking a more spiked, sharp outfit, to vibe with Jake's more violent tendencies. Given how Mark's and Steven's were both inspired from Capullo's art, I wouldn't be surprised if Jake's looked more like Finch's instead.

On the other hand, if they stick with Capullo, I could easily see them use this plated and bladed outfit, to emphasize the character's military background.

Good. Moon knight had so much potential but ended up as some of the most generic of marvel sludge, with the biggest noteworthy detail being that it kept cutting away from the action.

Moon knight was actually really good. I liked the less-is-more approach with showcasing a lack of superhero antics in favour of something more character driven and cerebral. The subplots concerning his alter ego’s childhood was nicely done. The mythological and psychological elements made it feel fresh and original. Isaac is awesome in any role and he killed it in this. Ethan Hawke was also pretty good as the villain. I’d like to see a renewal of this show.

@TheMetaMan - I enjoyed Ethan Hawke’s Arthur Harrow…

I wanted to know more about him but I guess it keeped to the shows less is more approach aswell in that it helped keep him mysterious and enigmatic.

Would have liked to have known more about his past his time as Khonshu’s champion and what led to his falling out with him.

I hope we do get a S2 since MK still is one of my favorite post-EG MCU projects so far…

I really would like to see both Marc & Steven who seemed to have found some harmony together deal with a violent & disruptive influence as Jake , especially since he’s Khonshu’s champion now.

I don't mind the actor but the character needs a reboot.

With hiw much stuff is in the works right now and how many characters are already running around, I just don't see a second season happening soon. Could see him show up in another project though.

And I don't mind that. Just like they grouped the grey characters in Thunderbolts, they should group the young characters together in Young Avengers and the mystical characters in Midnight Sons.

Just make it a comedy and be f-ing DONE with it. Why must they ruin so many good characters?

Phase 4/5 shows/movies are just used as platforms to introduce more female characters. Thats what Blade was going to be also but they’re fixing the script for the 6th time cuz ppl starting to notice and call them out on it

Loved the show. Great casting, costumes and action, that wasn't just the typical "we need to save New York/Chicago/insert any big city name".

@NGFB - No, they were just trying to save the majority of humanity. 😉 I get what you are saying and agree, though.

The suit was good. Nothing else was.

This show sucked.

Bring MK back in Blade or something good, but no season 2.

The show started off really well and there were a few amazing scenes like one museum fight but the hippo ended it for me, what a joke…. What were they smoking when that got signed off?
