Even if you weren't particularly impressed by Disney+'s Moon Knight, it'd be hard to argue that star Oscar Isaac delivered a superb performance in his dual role. Now, the show's director has revealed that his favorite scene with the Dune actor was actually cut from the recent season finale.

While speaking to THR, Mohamed Diab outlined a deleted moment involving Marc Spector/Steven Grant confronting their late mother in the "white void," and the filmmaker believes Isaac was at his very best during this scene.

“I think [Oscar] would say that I was just encouraging him, but I always tell him, 'You’re going to win everything,' because he is always great," Diab told the trade. "He’s a genius actor. The irony is that my favorite scene of his got cut. It was in episode six. As great as everything else was, he actually topped it with something even better. He confronted his mom in a white void, and he was going back and forth between Marc and Steven. And oh my god. That scene by itself is an Oscar-worthy performance. Hopefully, Marvel releases that scene one day because Oscar was a genius.”

In the penultimate episode, it's revealed that Spector's mother became abusive towards her son after the accidental death of his younger brother, which led to him creating the Steven Grant persona as a way of dealing with the trauma. With this in mind, we can only imagine how powerful this confrontation must have been, so we really hope it does see the light of day at some point.

Cutting from the final battle to Marc in bed and just ending it there is something that I will never understand.

Like it was a short episode, a couple of extra minutes wouldn't have hurt. Couldn't they just throw in a scene of the aftermath and what Layla was up to afterwards?

Great way of supporting him. "but I always tell him, 'You’re going to win everything,' because he is always great,"
Then proceeds to cut his "oscar worthy" performance.
Why cut it? It would've been really good for his characters arc and the overall story to have that scene in there. Idiot.

All of his performances were Oscar worthy because his name is Oscar.

Isaac was so darn excellent, and a great addition to the MCU. Would love and can’t wait to see him inevitably return.

Oscar worthy? Either he was being tongue-in-cheek playing off of Oscar Isaac’s first name, or he forgot that Moon Knight is a tv show.

@SpaceParanoids - id go for the latter, mostly because of that whole black Adam thing.

This show needed more episodes, or at least longer episodes. Felt rushed, and not nearly enough time with Moon Knight in action.

I hope they release it. Marvel is usually good with releasing things as long as the fans want it

If you could all pick only one MCU film/series that you consider till this day a solid 10/10 what would it be? For me it's The Avengers (2012)

@SonOfAGif - The Winter Soldier. That’s my favorite MCU movie and it’ll be hard to top it imo. Great writing, pacing, acting, choreography, the whole shebang. The chemistry between the cast and the mystery espionage thriller vibe really elevated it for me.

@Mikel9608 - Definitely in my top 3 best fight scenes. Shang Chi vs Death dealer dethroned Cap vs Bucky on the Highway for me. But The Winter Soldier is such a great film. Definitely the strongest Phase 2 film.
